If you overlay where fires are actually burning vs the proposed rail line only a tiny % might match up and there are fires in those areas every couple of years. I too remember the Getty fire, I used to one a home in the hills 2 miles from it, and I assure you there is nothing odd about it. When there is any kind of drought the hills get dry as hell and anything can set them off. I had an acre of hillside above my property, not at al usable because it was so steep, and I had to pay to have people come and clear it because if I didn’t and a spark hit it the entire mountain would go up in flames. That area gets ssssooo windy too so the fires spread like well...wildfire.

I seriously doubt if California will get control of this fire situation because those who call the shots there are totally Leftist, totally politicized and totally committed to making sure that the GOP and Climate Change are to blame for the destruction.
Let's just be comforted by the fact that it is not our problem.
