Why didn’t they just send everyone in America a reusable mask? Seems like that would have been easier than turning the entire country upside down.

Because wearing masks isn't cool.

The correct answer to your question is that they think there is a mass shortage but I certainly think everyone agreeing to wear some sort of mask is the sane way to approach this.

Bane used to wear a mask. Now he's in Arkham asylum. It's safe to factually state that masks turn innocent people into criminals. I don't want to be a criminal.

How about do what everyone with common sense said 3 weeks ago, self-isolate the old sick people, if they choose... let life go on with the rest of everyone's life.

This was never complex. Everyone hanging out at Lowe's isn't much different than everyone hanging out at work.

Also, those masks really aren't going to help you much of any.

Don't worry. You're still free to post every dumb thought that comes to your head.

That's a relief. Random dumb thoughts are the backbone of just about every forum on the internet.

I'm not saying I'm a hero.

But I am thinking it.

I would have no problem playing golf and lifting weights at the gym while wearing the mask I already keep for mowing in Spring.
It's great with contact lenses but it's a bitch if you are wearing glasses ...fogs up.

Self isolate all "at risk" persons.

You just eliminated over half of the south’s workforce and then are furthering the risk of the at risk essential workers.

I’m not saying that some stuff shouldn’t reopen etc but it’s not a simple oh you old people stay home!

Yes, it is... anyone can self-isolate, nobody is going to force you to go Lowe's. My parents self-isolated about a week before all this was even on tv.

What is easier and workable... self-isolate or isolate everyone? All those old sick people should be isolation now.

Because $1200 hush money to not ask any questions is much easier to comprehend by a nation of publicly educated morons.

People are idiots and wont do it without there being a mandate similar to what is in place. Look at Fred Hoiberg. Dude couldn’t be trusted as an educated professional in his late 40s to self isolate when significantly sick and not coach his 7-25 team who was dressing out football players in the first round of the big ten tournament. Take that on the national level and I can add multiples of that on a local level of idiots doing the same thing that wont make the national news.

You think you open up the country and the 55 year old with a mortgage and kids diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnea is going to self isolate and not show up at work? Hell no.

I don’t have the answers but I’m also a realist. There’s two paths. Open everything up and take a hit on a public health level or keep things as they are and take the hit on the economy.

I’m glad I’m not the one who has to decide because its not an easy one and both sides have significant consequences.

Genius, someone alert the press . Yeah I am sure that would have worked. Why can't people understand that more money in the hands of the people is a good thing, not a bad thing?

Free choice. Everyone is partying it up at Walmart (but boy is Walmart shelves starting to look empty) and Lowe's, I would say 80% of the people are 65+ when I go.

You give people information, let them make their own life choices.

Well, this is obviously because old people aren't the only ones being hospitalized for COVID. They are most likely to die, but the truth is that a lot of people on here who don't consider themselves old or at risk most likely are wrong about that. Most Americans are fat. Many have high blood pressure and/or diabetes. The at risk population is enormous.

In 2018 the US collected $1.6T in income taxes. Instead of sending checks they could have just said no ones owes taxes in 2020 and saved money.

Still free choice, let people make their own choices, not going to have much of a choice when Amazon stops delivering.

Anyone can self-isolate, did I really need to tell you that?
