Before we can go to the ballot box to elect a person who agrees with "us", we have to know there is an issue and make it known that IT IS AN ISSUE. Some only support this when the public outcry is for something they support (gay marriage, abortion, women's rights) but get all constipated and outraged when the public raises questions about issues they don't want addressed.

Sure. There are no issues until they are brought to light. That's part of our job. Our participation doesn't start or end at the ballot box.

People act like saying "Whoa" for a minute and questioning authority is a bad thing. Are we not allowed to protest policy we think is wrong?
Do you remember who the following quote is from?
quote:

"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration."

It was pretty easy But it is also amazing how both parties use the same arguments when they are not in power. It is also amazing that many of today's elected officials have been in Washington for over 20 years and yet we still face many of the same problems from 20 years ago? HMMMM

I meant no disrespect, I promise. It's getting late and my wife's warm body has not cooled off my side of the bed yet, so I better get while the pillow is still cool.

Good night

I'm spending tomorrow reading Cajun tall tales to the first grade classes in a Cajun accent. Should be fun the first few times

Yep.

Dude is smart and knew what he was saying. He's probably more intelligent than any politician in congress and Obama.

I hope he lands in a place where he can get permanent asylum.

Just heard CNBC speaking about it, but didn't see any clips.. Of course, it was on their parent channel, but the commentators aid he came across very well spoken and thought out. Said he was very emotional too.

I'm still curious as to why this "patriot" very publicly take his findings to the leaders of Congress, or, hell, even known sympathetic members of Congress, and let the chips fall where they may?

Why provide to foreign journalists and others while skipping town?

I don't know. It certainly would have been easier on him if he had gone that route. However, he stated that he attempted several times to report this activity and was told to "stop asking questions." Perhaps he didn't feel as though Beowulf be protected while in country or was afraid that it would be buried if not given to the press.

Do we AGAIN have to point out what happened to the prior three guys who tried to use correct channels?

Do we have to point out that our intel agencies actually covertly accessed our damned Senate Intelligence Committee computers when they started delving into issues?

How in the frick do people genuinely think that would've done anything other than land the man in the Manning zone at best.

I gotta admit, I'm a little surprised this is your take on all of this.

Bc that is likely the ONLY way this shite would have come to the forefront.

Are you really naive enough to think if he exposed that to anyone within DC, he wouldn't have ended up in a black hole just like Bradley Manning?

Sympathetic members of Congress can't protect him from the powers that be and whom would imprison him.

Im neutral on the situation. I don't think anything he did has endangered American lives, but I also think he did break the law in falsely obtaining his position with the NSA solely to get access to the data.

Like him or not, he has at least brought the overreach of our loving govt into the public forum.
