You get your shite out of here. I'm a sailor in the U.S. Navy and am part of the community you so vehemently hate. Snowden's leaks go well beyond the so-called domestic surveillance program. That is 100% *fact*.

Thanks for your service

Still, this is my thread and your arguments are lazy and weak. If you can provide examples of how we have been harmed, I will be happy to listen and learn. Instead, you are making assertions without backing them up. Thats shite and you know it.

ETA: why do you presume that I hate the military community? I am part of the military community. I grew up in that community. And I don't want my family or any member of the military used as a weak arse excuse to allow our government to steal and exploit power.

I didn't get that from his post at all. You're ignoring the fact that government can snoop into your every communication anytime they want...w/o your consent and w/o warrant. How foolish.

Also, if Snowden's actions actually hurt the intelligence community's capabilities, do you really think they would have admitted it to the world? How foolish.

No thanks. I'd rather allow you to continue living in your black and white dream world where Snowden is the Messiah and the government the greatest threat to humanity.

How foolish, that you think the government can protect you from all things at all times. They did a great job stopping the Boston bombing, even with communication with the Russians.

They're not going to provide any examples. Might as well get them to prove there is an invisible pink unicorn in their house.

While I don't like that fact, I personally have nothing to hide. If they want to listen to me talking to my parents or my girlfriend on the phone then more power to them.

Again you make the assumption that I hate the government and our military. And you have the absurdity to say that I live in a black & white world. Seems you are the one who can't provide additional pertinent data to show others your side but is unwilling to even acknowledge any points made on the other. And, no, I won't just take your word for it. That's the whole point. If you spout off on the Political Board and don't provide info to back up your point, expect to be called out and dismissed. Hell, expect that in life.

You took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, no?

Ok, then can you explain why government would make that known to the world? No snark intended in that question. Why would such a supposed huge hole in our intelligence gathering capabilities be admitted to on a world stage?

Some people have no principles. Or, maybe this is just a troll.

You really would have no problem with the gubment watching and listening to everything you do?

Your specific example of how the U.S. has been harmed is a link to Wikipedia's definition of security clearance?

Obama has released more dangerous info to the press THIS WEEK. Maybe you should email him that link. You think you're the only person on this board with security clearance or military experience?

I appreciate your service and what you do for this country. The closest I came to wearing a uniform was during the 1st Gulf War and I contemplated joining while I was in college.

Regardless, what the government is doing to the citizens in the name of providing safety tramples on everything the Founding Fathers had in mind when this country was established.

If the moment ever came that they were, I would definitely have a problem with it.

However...there's a big difference between capability and acting on said capability. For instance, we have the capability of wiping every major city off the face of this planet. Do we frequently act on this capability? No.

He apparently thinks he took an oath to uphold the U.S. Government instead of the constitution.

The government was gathering information on innocent citizens.
