In the event of a doomsday scenario

I dont think theres any way the senate will impeach Trump but in the event it happens. Who would you like to see run vs the dem nominees. My first thought was Lindsey Graham.

I could be wrong but I doubt a first term president who was impeached and removed from office would be eligible to run again.

The senate won’t convict trump
He would resign from office if it became obvious he didn’t have the support of enough Rs for acquittal

Republicans in the senate are not going to vote for impeachment. It would be the end of their careers. The only scenario is that Trump gets acquitted and says he was exonerated.

Depends on the charges. If he impeached the Senate would then vote on whether to disqualify him from future office.

Nothing changes. Trump could still run in 2020. I’m sure if doomsday happens Pence will keep the seat warm for a few months. Can you imagine the TDS if he is removed from office and then wins 2020 anyway. They would kill themselves
