Seems like lawfare is the global playbook. They tried to do it to Trump, now LePen, Turkey arrested Edrogan’s main challenger, Ireland is considering blocking Connor McGregor from running, and I think a Romanian candidate was arrested and jailed not long ago. Too many times to be a coincidence.

Don't forget Bolsonaro in Brazil.

If this gets your thong in a knot, you're going to be beside yourself when you understand what our elected officials have been doing for decades.

quote:So was Judge Boasberg on a zoom call for sentencing to enjoin this?
What Happened: French nationalist leader Marine Le Pen has been found “guilty” of misusing European Union (EU) funds and has been sentenced to a five-year ban from politics and a four-year prison sentence, half of which is suspended.
Who’s Involved: Marine Le Pen, presiding judge Bénédicte de Perthuis, co-defendants including Thierry Légier and Catherine Griset, and political figures like Éric Coquerel and Jordan Bardella.
Where & When: The verdict was delivered at a Paris court, with proceedings concluding in March 2025 following a trial held in late 2024.
Key Quote: “Marine Le Pen has been at the heart of this illegal system since 2009,” said presiding Judge de Perthuis, labeling the actions as a threat to democracy.
Impact: Le Pen’s ban prevents her from running in the 2027 presidential election. She has been the leading candidate in opinion polls for months.

This is sad.

Consider Lavrentiy Beria, politics is not reading a headline, it requires critical thinking, as does the apparent disposition of Lepen

How shocking
MSNBC or BBC told him a couple things and he took it as absolute truth. You know, "researched and read up on it."

The globalists have mobilized and are using the same playbook against political threats.

I would not disagree. But, overall, this was not Macron's doing. The French structure is confusing. French judges have a wide degree of latitude in their sentencing capability independent of what the government might suggest. Politics plays a role and always have. Most judges and attorneys in France, tend to be on the left....way on the left.
My guess is that politics no doubt played a role, but also LePen and NF have been playing fast and lose for years when it comes to rules in France about money vis a vis political expenditures. It's a French thing, no one understands, seriously. It's like the the whole PM thing a while back. The guy essentially lost his job for doing what he was supposed to. The left did not like the outcome......LePen then decided that they did not like it either despite the fact that it was almost exactly what you would think they wanted.

All of this, yet the "conservatives" with TDS want to attack Trump/Vance for calling out "our allies." It's just proof that these people don't have conservative principles, just anti-Trump principles.

The courts have become nothing more than veto power over actual democracy.
It's how the class of people who actually have power ensure those silly little elections are always just for theater.

Oh no, I could tell you a lot more about French "politics". I've navigated it for a former employer. Legally, it's byzantine and has absolutely .....well , almost absolutely nothing to do with the English Common Law standards.
I could tell you that the National Rally (Front) was considered a grift for years until LePen's father worked out a deal with the French Socialists 30+ years ago in an attempt to thwart Chirac from running despite the fact that they held no power in the departments.
I could tell you that in terms if political machinations, the US is amateur hour as compared to the French. If the socialists get scared that there is a threat to power. They'll gum up the works. If the " conservatives" think their hold on the Presidency is under threat, they'll pull shite like creating a "third" party and placing a guy like Macron in.....and if they suspect a problem, they'll call snap elections that have two rounds of voting that is ostensibly a way for the people in power to get a look see at the current mood and then manipulate things for the second round.
Then there is the old governing elite in Paris....mostly that can make ours look like Puritanical Boy Scouts especially with their control of banks and key industry. For example, if you want money, go to Toulouse. The guys there will give it away....almost so long as you make their ability to sell airplanes easier. The French military says they would like to see curbs on immigration......until Airbus decides it would be detrimental to their bottom line. But only after the guys at Dassault in Paris say it's OK
Or I could tell you about Sarkozy and how he used a bunch of "fake" bills to hide his overspending on his Presidential campaign......it was nothing short of genius in its concept but sloppy in execution. How they are all I bed almost straight up with BNP Paribus. Agricole and Securite and how finance ministers better be acceptable to them first and foremost
Want more, 808, I could tell you how wine affects their agricultural policy and how Spain comes into play with a lot of it?
