We are witnessing the tide shifting and the swamp aligning. Trump’s attorney knows this, hence how pissed he was.

All true but the dems are the majority, since when do they play by basic simple rules? Never.

Number 2 scenario but I may poll the audience

Agreed, this was obvious by the way Trump's lawyers spoke-and Leahy calling their speech out. It is palpable. I hope to God I am wrong.

Graham doesn't want to help Trump. Graham wants the donor list and Trump said frick off. Graham will go on Chris Wallace tomorrow and say 100's of witnesses will be called and they won't be.

Me too, but I think we might know why the NG is still at the Capitol. They knew that they were going to convict him.

The audio and text on the screen said "Subpoena witnesses and documents for trial".

Seems to me there is no limit.

Essentially this should drag out this shite show for who knows how long.

Exactly. It is like the GOPe said, crap we need something back again to justify convicting Trump. (They thought they had this with the Pence thing and the dems edited videos.) Something is very fricky.

What does some highly partisan dems notes she took have to do with McCarthy & Trump's phone call?

They are setting up a Fiona is what...

BTW: wtf are these arseholes doing now? Sitting around talking? Turtle talking to some blonde woman?

We are on the same page. Public opinion was not where they needed it to be, so they took out plan b. Kevin McCarthy. What they don’t get, is that conservative public opinion will never be for a conviction. Now the question is “do they care”? I think that they are going to convict him.

I don’t trust McCarthy as far as I can throw him.

But if this were some GOPe showdown, Turtle would have voted no.

Lindsey changed her vote at the last minute.

It seems to me he realized that there wasn’t a limit. And he was thinking like a good trial lawyer.

Will review footage to see what the motion they voted on actually limited when I can

If the GOP votes to convict Trump it will be the end of their political party.

Cspan2 lady claims there is talk of a separate trial sub committee being drawn up to handle depositions and legal arguments while the Senate moves forward with other business.

They want to drag this out indefinitely.

They know they don't have what they need to convict.

I disagree. It’s all for show. They want to appear to be “against conviction”. Seriously though, I hope you are right.

That will all change when McCarthy takes the stand.

There will be hundreds of other witness testimonies that defend President Trump also.

There is no way they can limit it to one witness for the Prosecution only.

Once the genie bottle of witnesses is open you can't close it.

My gut notion is they will convict him; then they can legally get the donor list from Trump and make him worthless in politics.

They also have a plan B of not voting to convict but voting to ban him from public office. I think they need to justify doing this in the end of this sick show.

Anybody thinking they will allow witness testimony to ever come out that shows it was antifa and loons that were brainwashed. Or that it was set up; can buy a home in Chalmette that has never flooded.

They can’t move forward though legally

I don't know all the procedural rules but let's not pretend legality has anything to do with this. Remember the house skipped the step of requiring witnesses and evidence when they rammed through the articles of impeachment.

I don't know if a separate subcommittee working in the background would allow the Senate to move forward or not.

They can't legally have an impeachment trial without the Chief Justice presiding.

Do they know they are all on camera all talking through this latest scheme? Do they think the cameras stopped and they are in a break?

Eh, I don't think they have the votes.

I think this is a delay tactic to just drag this out indefinitely.

For what reason? I can think of two:

1) Trump is basically muzzled during this impeachment trial. Trump is outspoken, but not stupid. He knows he needs to keep quiet until this passes.

2) Maybe some Dems have hope they can find better or more credible evidence to be bale to convict Trump over time.
