Kind of the opposite, it's really low on my list of places of interest in MENA

Much prefer to visit Cairo, Amman, Muscat, Morocco

My uncle and his family were living in Dubai when Saddam invaded Kuwait. Conoco immediately got them the hell out of there and put them up in housing in the U.S. until the threat was neutralized.

Lots of people have to connect through there while on the way to furher vacation spots like Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore or Bali.

Cairo is an absolute shithole and smells like you’d think a shithole smells like.
Morocco is gorgeous and Amman isn’t bad either. Never been to muscat.
Not sure the security situation in Tunis, Tunisia these days but it has great beaches and smoking hot women.

Yes that’s where you should stay if longer than a few days. Much cheaper than Dubai and it’s right next to it.
