Melt MFer.

Your anger is obviously misdirected. If the candidate was viable, people would have voted for him. Your real issue is the Republican party and the clowns that somehow get through their nomination process.

Well aren't you the proverbial old timer turncoat of the party. Congrats. The OP makes a good point.

The past is the best predictor of the future.

At the very least, they won’t be able to cut taxes.

Another Rispone blunder. He didn't address this enough if at all. My kids are young, but this is just about the only thing keeping a few our our friends with older kids here.

Not may LA residents have college funds for their kids because of TOPS.

Free shite!

[Texas should put up a few of them (also on I-20), saying "Taxes too high? Corruption too blatant? Come to the Lone Star State."]

According to WalletHub and Kiplinger Texas is the 11th most taxed state. Louisiana is 24th. Largely driven by Property tax--. Louisiana residents pay nearly a quarter of what Texas landowners do on property taxes. Property taxes are $555 per $100,000 of assessed home value in Louisiana, compared to Texas’s $1,993 tax bill per $100,000 of assessed home value. Also, Louisiana does rank high in sales tax but Texas is right behind.

So... you want the state to get worse so you can prove a point?

Weird.

In any event, remember that for him to do anything "bad" the "conservatives" in the legis need to go along.

I don't see things improving in the next 4 years but I don't think we are about to become a liberal paradise, either.

He is now a lame duck, so it is possible. However, he has a new and very conservative legislature, so if he wants to get anything done he would have to move even more towards the center. His veto will only go so far with super majorities.

Democrats don't raise taxes. They "make investments in our children's future."

I can’t wait to shove it in the faces of every “conservative” I know that voted for JBE. He’s going to go full liberal now. It’s not a matter of if - it’s when.

He’s gonna jockey for a bigger position after this second term because he’s still relatively young. I’m thinking senator or maybe even try to position himself for a VP spot in 2024 if Trump wins 2020. To do that he’s going to have to move further left. He will have no choice.

It’s going to be in the form of another tax increase, expansion of welfare, or another fraudulent expansion of Medicaid. You watch.

When he does, I think I’m starting a gofundme account to put up a billboard along I10 publicly placing blame on “conservatives”.

They deserve the government we have. It’s squarely on them from 2015 and now 2019.

frick THEM! They’re no conservative at all and they have no idea what a true conservative believes. They’re ignorant mother frickers who base their belief system on

Not likely; Republicans GAINED seats, a supermajority (if I'm not mistaken; I heard this).

Also, as the truth comes out re Obama's abuse of the Intel Community and DOJ...it'll be hard for any honest, high profile person to deny the coming tidal wave of evidence. Losing total cred when one is the Governor of a RED State...won't make for an easy life.

And unless the Dems can field a RATIONAL Candidate for POTUS, that will put our Governor on the spot as well.

JBE will listen to his Priest Advisor, and stay on the Moderate (Pro Life and Gun) Reservation. And the Republican Legislature will rein in His inclination toward tax and spend.

Could be a total meltdown next year, with all that's coming.
