I'm pretty sure I found out why a majority of african americans still wear masks

They don't trust the vaccine. They think it's a "weird white people drug". They do however believe that masks do work. They rather just wear a mask and not get the vaccine. (Which is totally OK)
It will be interesting to see how persons of color support for the democrats will change with the push for mandatory vaccines. It's funny to me that the type of white people that blacks and other races stereotype about are usually traits involving white liberals. I think a large portion of this country can't stand white liberals.

I think you’re right but Stonehog says that only white unvaxed rednecks are getting COVID. Apparently the delta variant is racist. It doesn’t like people of color.

So initially, black people were getting hammered by Covid. I remember visiting the ICU with the charge nurse to determine how portables would be done: We had about 24 out of 36 (the unit was segregated) with Covid and on ventilators. Seemed to me like 80% were black.
I think they got hit hard, saw family members get Covid, and got scared like crap. Now they are the ones with masks on, amidst the hundreds without a them, in public.
This will probably result in another black President if enough white people die. Sad but true. I cannot imagine a world without white people I wouldn’t be married.

When I was a kid, I would always notice black men with a small face towel in front of their mouths. I don't know why they did this but it was common where I grew up in the NO area.
Maybe mask wearing takes them back to simpler times?

Not in Atlanta. Probably 1 in 50 still wear a mask around south and west ATL.

The demographic is historically less trusting in vaccination in general. This should be no surprise.
