Convincing white people not to have kids is definitely part of the plan. Anyone who says “I’m not bringing a kid into this world” as if they’re making some moral sacrifice is so full of shite. They’re either a moron that actually believes the planet is becoming uninhabitable or they’re more likely a weak loser who just doesn’t want the responsibility of parenthood despite that effort being responsible for their very existence.

So people need to move to trailer parks and hope they can find work nearby?

As I said, IF OWNING A HOUSE IS OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE, then yes, they should arrange their lives around owning a house, which would mean living somewhere that their goal would be affordable.

Or, alternatively, they could invest in going back to school or starting their own business or in some other way improve their financial situation to be able to increase what they can afford.

The main point, which I have stated at least two other times now, is that what is NOT likely to do them any good is stand there and whine about it without adapting to conditions.

quote:

This is your answer to the housing crisis?

There's no "housing crisis" in most of the country. You're being your usual idiot self here. If there's a COVID outbreak that confines itself to certain places in the country, all one has to do to avoid the outbreak is go somewhere else.

So yes IF OWNING A HOUSE IS OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE then al one has to do is start looking online for areas with the most affordable housing and start applying for jobs in those areas. Because U-Haul is waiting.

And if it's not such an important thing that they would make life decisions about it, then it's not a "crisis." That's you idiotically parroting the very nonsense that has the OP deciding to not have children.

quote:

I own a house. In a city, at that.

It must not be much of a crisis, then. Because you haven't given the impression that you are any 1%er. (Correct me if I am wrong about that and you are a privileged rich person). So if you can do it...

quote:

But I also have empathy and am able to see things from perspectives other than my own personal one

I've never seen you post about anything NOT from your own personal experience. Look at the sentence you typed directly before the one I just quoted.

As for empathy, "empathy" is exactly why we have a nation of such paralyzed snowflakes incapable of wiping their own behinds. We could do with a lot less "empathy" and all would be edified for it.

You seem to be extremely self-involved.

Yeah? How so? Exactly?

The answer very well could be "because the economy has sucked for your entire life after hitting puberty."

It could theoretically, but it's an objective fact that this is not true.

So now what?

A lot of people use politics or current events, but the real reason driving the lack of kids is economic. Older gen z and boomers simply aren’t connected to just how bad economic conditions are for younger people.

Pretty sure boomers went through the seventies and I was still born, so no, you're wrong.

Wasn't the zoomer headline last week about how their only marketable skill was their personality and now it's "We can't afford kids!"

That escalated quickly.

I was born in 1970, my parents were born in 1941, so they were Boomers.

I saw how we lived growing up and exactly what my parent's lives were like in their 30s.

I was in 3rd or 4th grade when they bought their first house (at age 39), so I remember everything about that.

I don't remember sharing a house with my uncle (to save money) when I was an infant, but I do remember the next two houses we lived in that they rented before buying that house in 3rd grade.

I remember that they bought only one new car their whole lives, a Volkswagen Beetle that they bought in 1963, and that my Dad was still driving when my sister inherited it in 1985 when she got her driver's license.

Exactly. Spending all your time on a cell phone with unlimited data and whining about being broke is hilarious to anyone older than thirty. No kidding clown. Get a job.

Honestly, when I was 25, i thought the same (sans climate crisis). It was 2008, the wars were perpetuating, economy was shite, Ron Paul opened my eyes, and the future looked bleak.

Fast forward 15 years, I have a son, and expecting another one. World is worse off, and the future is even bleaker. Glad I have a kid/kids though.

The word sacrifice has no place in their vocabulary. We all understood that there would be a lifestyle hit that comes with kids.

These people just believe they are entitled to shite they arent.

The ridiculousness of the sacrifice card being played, I am in agreement with you.

But not having kids is selfish how?

This bord screams daily about people having kids that didn't want them or couldn't afford them. Now that people are actively practicing not having kids for those reasons, they get shite on for it.
