With opening the government back up without a deal on the wall. His biggest campaign promise was the wall, and now it will look like he caved on that. This is not good.

Long way to go until reelection. If he doesn't follow through on what he said today, you're right.

It’s going to be shut down again in under a month unless wall funding happens.

He still has 2 years to get the wall. He knows damn well he needs it to be re-elected. Calm your tits.

Not a good look for him at all. Today is probably the lowest point of his presidency. He barked and barked and barked & growled and growled and growled but in the end he just sat down and licked his own a-hole like a kitten.

Didn’t sound like that to me, he just made his case for declaring a national emergency to get the barrier/wall constructed.

Are there really this many people so stupid as to not understand that a campaign promise means that a person will fight for the thing?

It still doesn't mean they're King.

I'm still voting for Trump. I just fear many independents who voted for him in 2016 won't do so again in 2020.

You obviously didn't watch his speech. He said he would act unilaterally if they can't get a deal done in 3 weeks.

I keep seeing this take, and it's such a rediculous one. You really think someone who wants the wall is going to vote for a Democrat next time around simply because Trump couldn't get the wall?

If Trump doesn't get re-elected, it will be because he lost the vote of sub-urban white women.

It’s fascinating how people think 3 weeks matters when so much happens on a daily basis

this has been a bad day

from the gestapo tactics of the brown shirts to what looks like a cave in by Trump

but this assessment (Trump is done and can't be re-elected) is WAY premature

the wall fight isn't over

unless you are the type that truly believes that being down a touchdown at halftime means your team can't win...

Agree 100%. All he can do is ask and fight. He’s not building it himself. The Rs in Congress own this one, they failed to pass it when they had the numbers.
