Illegal or not, tax remittances at least at the highest tax bracket- add 10% or more for illegals

If they can’t make money here, they will go home. If they want the USA to be their home, then, hopefully, they will work it out through the correct channels

But shame on our officials for not passing legislation that 90% of the people agree with.
Most Americans support legal immigration, and work visas.
Make the damn laws, stop the BS executive order BS. Congress, do you damn job!

No way to know how accurate your source is. FAIR was founded by a guy who promotes eugenics. The organization is strongly anti- immigration. I’m sorry you were disturbed by blacks and Hispanics at Western Union… I hope you didn’t lose too much sleep…

Don’t be this dumb.

He's making enough to pay his bills and still send money home so...that means that he's also paying taxes and contributing to the local economy.

Is he really, though?

It has already been mentioned that many enjoy assistance programs, live like a clown car and aren't paid the usual way.

Legal or not... remittances need to be taxed.

Right. But the scenario that the OP laid out is pretty stupid

If you see a black dude at a Western Union do you think that they're automatically illegal?

Simple,

Force all money transfer portal companies to require whether or not someone is a “citizen”, if they are not, charge a 30% transfer fee.

It's equally as dumb if they're Hispanic since there are a shite ton of American citizens of Hispanic ancestry

He's basically saying that only illegals could possibly use these services

I do not care how the remittances are leaving the country. I care that illegals are not contributing to society. If they want to stay then apply for a work visa with all of the caveats associated with it. And pay taxes. It is that simple.

I think of it like a trade deficit, except they live here and commit crimes to boot and take away work from lower skilled workers.

And this doesn’t count the amount of services stolen from Americans on the form of schools, medical, welfare, etc.

Every Hispanic or Latino grocery store has a Western Union in it. That money is going home to feed his ole lady and kids in Honduras Mexico. Guatemala, etc.

If they're sending money to their families at home you should at least be thankful they didn't bring the whole squad with them

That's my take

And remittances to their country helps their economy...giving them less of a reason to all come here

Did you think that was defense of illegal immigration? Because it wasn't. Just setting the scale, that this amount of remittances isn't really very significant compared to the size of our economy, our federal debt, the size of our federal spending, or even the annual deficit.

And I agree. It is not about the money (which is a pittance). It is about the principle. If they want to benefit from the society then they have to contribute to it.
