I don't think deportation is their primary concern at this point. They've said this is RICO related. They are focusing on her sister. This is about Feeding Our Future and is going to ensnare more politicians. Sure, eventually they'll denaturalize and deport her as well, but the investigation appears to be broader in scope. Klobuchar, Flannigan, Ellis, and Walz are all sweating bullets right now.

For what we suspect (Omar actually being an illegal holding Congressional office), the case should be as air tight as a lunar module. That means not only having your foundational work done on the specific issue, but investigating family members for possible corroborations (and, as also seems to be the case, other possible crimes).
Now let's go a step further and say that investigation has crossed over with the Feeding Our Future investigation (whether it was caused by, as a result of, or just good timing) which could potentially implicate not only a completely different sitting member of Congress in a different wrongdoing, but a sitting Governor and a sitting Attorney General.
Either of those cases alone would be a huge scandal and should require hundreds of hours of research and evidence-gathering to make sure the evidence was solid and irrefutable for charges to be filed. Combined? That's going to be even more time and resources.
This is the kind of thing which could make or break not only the careers or the investigators and prosecutors, but that of the people being investigated, their families and the political party they all have in common (especially if evidence is found of a larger conspiracy to hide and defraud and it remains tied solely to that party).

They've said as much, man. They've said this goes far beyond her immigration paperwork issues and the media has been reporting they're hearing that it is RICO related. We KNOW they're focusing on her sister and we also know her sister was neck deep in the Feeding Our Future fraud. They have dove into her trash cans for DNA, dude. They've executed search warrants on a dozen different properties simultaneously.
