Should have never opened up a second front in Europe, until almost all Soviet and Nazi troops were basically down to nothing. We should have let them slaughter each other, and then put whoever was left standing, out of their misery. The mistake was thinking we had to choose either Nazi Germany, or the USSR in this conflict.

No, we could’ve put 1 million men on the island, and maintained the worlds largest aircraft carrier for a very long time without ever engaging in combat on the ground. Hell, Germany barely had a navy, so we would’ve had no trouble supplying it either.

The problem is that Germany would have very quickly controlled everything in europe west of the Ural mountains, including all of the natural resources contained therein. With those resources, and an essentially unlimited quantity of slave labor, they could never have been dislodged from the European continent.

We would simply have found ourselves facing a DIFFERENT global competitor, without the western European allies that helped us prevail over the Soviets

England would have been easy to fortify. The main problem with sta4ever's proposition is letting the French, Dutch, and others suffer as we drag out the war for many more years. Public morale would have been awful.

Also without supporting the soviets with material leaves a major question mark with how the eastern front would have turned out.
