In the 1960's seems like every graduating class had a butch or fairy. No big deal. some play football, some march in the band

70s-80s here.

Nobody w/ gender dysphoria. Definitely some gays, who, though closeted, everyone knew.

One who transitioned well after HS but was always a bit off.

Very smart but also batshit crazy even outside of that.

It begs the question: is this necessarily a BAD thing?

In Alabama, it did not exist. Especially, rural Alabama. That nonsense was not tolerated. Dad’s were very involved in raising sons to be men. Mom’s raised daughters to be women. Everybody went to church. Baptist and Methodist. Presbyterians were a cult.

I knew of 1, but the dude was an odd ball who never fit in with anyone. He did the beginning stages of dressing like a woman, but that was it. He’s back to being a guy now.

It did not exist. It is a made up diagnosis.

HS 70s Baton Rouge, can't recall any gay or transgender types. First time I came across a transgender was when I owned a small business in the late 80s. Guy came into my store fully dressed as a lady. He was very polite but man it freaked me out.

70s and 80s -- there were none.

Being a kid who moved around to a number of schools (10), statistically, it would be almost impossible to miss.

This is how you know the trans stuff is mostly political B.S.

Mother Nature doesn't do trends and human biology doesn't start fads. If Trump and the Republicans were to suddenly adopt Albinoism as their new favorite political pet and declare a month as "albino awareness month" and put a bunch of albinos in token positions and talk about albinos incessantly then we would not see some major uptick in babies born with albinoism. Nature doesn't work that way. She spits out the same number of albinos every year regardless of what politicians say.

While I do think there is a legitimate and rare psychiatric disorder relating to gender dysphoria, most of these people are just generic crazy people and outcasts who latched onto the hook that the left wing has been enthusiastically dangling in front of them this decade.

It's almost cruel they way they are shoving people who can't swim into the deep end of the pool. All for identity politics.

Did you ever see them out at night with their girlfriend? They looked more like girls. I knew one bulldagga who lost her pretty girlfriend to a man.

Graduated in 99. I went to a 5A high school, so it was a pretty large school. There was not a single person there with gender dysphoria and 2 dudes that were gay.

The most important question is what has changed? What is the driving force with these kids? I can only speak to my little bubble, because to this day I still don't personally know anyone with gender dysphoria.

None while in high school. 3 guys in my class of about 200 came out long after high school. As far as I know, no one I knew in college at OU fit into the alphabet soup. We definitely had them on campus. They tended to dominate the student newspaper, so much so that the Oklahoma Daily was nicknamed the Oklahomo Gayly.

Graduated in the mid-80s.

No trannies whatsoever.

There was 1 guy who we suspected of being gay. But he never did anything to prove it. Fast forward to today and he is, in fact, gay.

Also, had 1 girl who was "manly", tomboyish. She had a kid. But today she is a lesbo.

None. Back then the kids who wanted attention were into grunge and the like. Kids had mohawks and shite instead of having their dick cut off
