None, we should manufacture what we need here.

a. That would be devolving our economy, which would suck

b. Do we have the available workers to do this?

Vietnam killed a lot of our Fathers, Uncles, etc ... and are one of the worst persecutors of Christians. I avoid their products too. I'm good with The Philippians. I think if we turn India into a world power like we did China, we will regret it.

I get it. There was a similar feeling with Japan after the war, yet the US started trade again. Vietnam may be communist, but they aren’t stupid. When Trump was putting in tariffs against China, Vietnam was chomping at the bit to scoop up some of that opportunity.

Yeah, because it's a great idea to abandon your biggest trade partner that you share a physical border with. Then you have to import and export all of your goods and food via ocean-going vessels... when you don't have deepwater ports in a large portion of your country.

Mexico's busiest seaport in the north is the Port of Brownsville, TX.

Northern Mexico would revolt again and try to join Texas in the US before this happens... which is close to saying never.

India's workers are dumbasses...

The Chyna workers were almost born for assembly line work.

India, not so much...

This has got to be one of the more ignorant statements posted on here in a while.

Have you ever looked up the owners, CEO, EVPs of the largest, most sophisticated IT companies in the US?????

The problem with the US and its loss of manufacturing is only partially "cheap labor". We also have a corporate tax rate that this admin just took up again. It not only encourages outsourcing....but keeping all those profits offshore and reinvested offshore.

Then there is the whole organized labor fiasco. That port nonsense on the west coast is a prime example. Making well over 100 grand to do little to nothing and the new contract calls for no modernization, asinine.

Then this admin with things like the chips act where they are giving incentives to Taiwan and S Korean companies to build here, why not make it a joint venture....or they are on their own to protect their friggin countries. Anyone wonder why Nancy took that trip to Taiwan as soon as it passed the house....and took her son???????

I was thinking doctors as well. Looks like there's not much middle ground.

Deglobalization is happening now, it's unavoidable. An opportunity for America to begin manufacturing and producing here. More jobs and less dependence on foreign countries. Have "made in America" mean something again.
It's the wisest move. Imagine if a conflict arose and shipping was interrupted.....
We would be crippled.
