It is almost like no one close to Trump had ever heard of the Straight of Hormuz and no one had the foresight to ask “what if Iran is able to block it off”

Or they grabbed Venezuelan heavy waxy crude before the attack, and they ensured that America was energy independent of Persian Gulf crude so that the Strait blockage would not hurt us much.

The Trump psyop is eroding

This is not a new phenomenon. Bush and Obama both spoke about spending their political capital before it naturally erodes.

NATO took out Serbian power plants and no one complained. How is this different?

Oh yeah, it was (D)ifferent.

Why? They have oil and they can fix it themselves.Trump will charge the and I bet the other Arabs states either pay us for what we done or they will buy billions in war supplies made right here in the USA. Stop looking at the past, we are in a new world now.

That would be some irony. Trump himself turns out to be the only real "Panican"

Uh yeah well that’s no kind of a plan at all, our refineries aren’t setup to refine heavy Venezuelan or light US crude

I’ll give you the opportunity to qualify your statement before I prove you wrong. I’m nice like that.

We have refineries that can process Venezuelan oil if that's what you're getting at

But it still doesn't insulate us from the price shocks

And it's not only crude oil that is being held up at the strait. Other important industries like agriculture and semiconductors will be impacted as well.

Tell me what it would take time to get US refineries setup to replace all of the gasoline that is derived from middle-east oil with domestic and Venezuelan crude oil? Also how much would US oil companies lose profit-wise selling their crude domestically?

He didn’t need you to answer for him, but he probably appreciated it.

As I’ve stated before, we will be impacted for months even if it gets straightened out today. And, yes, I’m aware of other impacts. I just don’t care. The temporary pain is worth the action. I also wont let someone make an obviously erroneous statement like that. It’s an optimization issue, not a capability issue.

Do your own homework, Nerd. Just don’t make absolute statements as facts.

Do our refineries currently have capacity and ability to replace all the middle-east crude with Venezuelan and US crude? Yes or no?

That's a great question. Maybe you should have asked that instead of giving your blanket statement that our refineries cannot process Venezuelan oil.

If the Middle East is only ~8% of our imports, what exactly are you talking about replacing? And how does swapping that small slice suddenly break refinery operation? Two weeks to flatten the curve, right?

Dude, you truly panic a lot.
What is "panic" to you?

Disagreement?

Concern?

You just need something to call people who aren't leftists, that disagree with your Lord.

So I reiterate, I definitely understand why you need that to be true

It strikes me as odd how you panic on here because you have been on TD so long and I never remember you acting that way until recently.
