Look man it’s cool we can sit back and go with the establishment and see it is go the same way as 2008 and 2012. I am kind of over it. The only thing that has given any life to something outside of the bad path of the Dems and political establishment is the Trump movement.

I want you to re-read this.

You mean like the one's running his campaign?

Trump supporters keep magically ignoring the fact that Trump has spent his last several years surrounding himself with the biggest members of the establishment there is. They are quite literally running his campaign.

Yea fine, im not arguing for or against any of that. Most of his base dont know who any of the secondary people are, unless Trump tells them someone else is swampy.

For me, the administration he had, and will have if elected again, is why I am likely to go a different direction this time around. But I dont really have much hope for anyone else’s administration either. I see no scenario in which DC swamp is not part of any candidates administration. You need bureaucrats to run a bureaucracy. Preferably ones who know how it works. You won’t find many outside the system who can effectively operate within it.

I think not debating hurts him, if its only in states that have the pledge requirement i think it hurts him less with his base.

I don’t blame him if he doesn’t debate. It will be Trump debating every candidate. Every one of them will respond by invoking his name in one way or the other. He won’t get to debate.. he will have to defend.

He still got a shite ton completed. Probably the most consequential president in decades. No president is going to be successful at everything they attempt.

Nikki Haley has already stated that they will all be attacking Desantis, and treat Trump "gingerly" (except for Christie who will attack Trump).

And yet Desantis will be there.

Whether it is hard or not is irrelevant and for pussies. This is POTUS.

Sack up or frick off to all candidates

I can't disagree with any of this.

The reason why I'm currently going with Desantis is he's shown that he actually can stand up against Democrats, the establishment, the media, and GroomerBobb personally.

Did he accept money from big establishment groups? Sure. But so did Trump. And no one has been able to show me any sort of contract stating Ron will do the bidding of those groups because of the donations.

Is their anything about Trump you don't know now that you would discover in a debate? Besides, no matter what he says, it won't change what you or other TDS infected people think of him.

They spend all there time on here trashing Trump and want him to just go away. Then claim not showing up to a debate will hurt him but yet still cry. Seems like all the DeSantis supporters would be pleased. If DeSantis is your guy wouldn't you just want to hear him? Not having Trump there would surely highlight and bring more attention to the guy in a close second.

So your stance is Trump hasn’t at all I guess.

Desantis has only been a real name in Florida with stakes nowhere near as high. After the way Paul Ryan and a few others have screwed over Republican voters I am a little uneasy about just thinking Desantis is the real deal. I would like to have seen him in a VP role or big cabinet role doing the same things. I also truly do not think he has built his brand enough to be popular nationally. I think he would easily be supported in the South. I don’t feel so confident elsewhere.

Desantis also hasn’t truly taken the heat yet as the primary target of the opposition.

Yea, money is money. Every politician, including Trump, has taken donations from establishment types.

Desantis will probably be best equipped to oversee the machinations of any swamp in his admin. Not letting them just run roughshod in dark.

In a vacuum, Vivek fits my preferred profile. Successful in private industry, not a lawyer building wealth as a politician for their entire life. Founding fathers weren’t the best at government or law. Sure some were lawyers, but as a whole they came from many different walks of life. In an idyllic world, I would like for us to get back to something closer to that.

This world obviously isnt idyllic, so here we are.
