Why didn’t they get brought up when he was pushing the 10 Commandments monument in the statehouse, or when he sought the Alabama Governorship? It seems like they would have been perfect times for the left or GOPe types to go hard after him.

Plus the fact that the WAPO went looking for dirt instead of the dirt showing up on WAPO's doorstep.

Democrats weren't in their death throes at the time. They're looking for every opportunity to get a victory that they can to get momentum for next year.

IF they are true, then I have no problem with the victim revealing it on their terms.

My guess is that investigative reporting in this state is so B-team that it wasn’t ever looked into. His is the biggest microscope Moore has ever been under.

Bull shite.

It's about time in this nation that men wake the frick up.

If you can be ruined by someone bring up nearly 40 year old allegations............with ZERO EVIDENCE.........then you aren't gonna like the results.

Yeah. THAT's it.

I'm sure Strange had the B team too.

And, same for the national press the last time Moore was in the MSM crosshairs.

Sheesh. Are ANY of you liberals decent enough human beings to not be brazenly dishonest?

Moore has only ever had to worry about the local press. Having the WaPo and NYT on your case is a different animal.

True, because if they can't find anything they'll make the shyte up or embelish.

And why don’t democrats have to worry about the nyt and wapo “on their case”?

Their job is not to be “on his case”. That is the job of his opposition.

Thank you for pointing out they are one and the same.

First of all, I’m not a liberal.

Secondly, my entire post was under the assumption that Moore had a sexual encounter with a 14 year old girl.

IF he did such an act, then he is a piece of scum and deserves to have his campaign derailed. In that case, she’s the victim and Roy Moore doesn’t really have any room to complain about when she tells the world what he did.

He wasn't against anyone and the press knew if he stuck to it he would be removed anyways.

He never stood a chance because Alabama was enamored by that snazzy business owner from Tuscaloosa who talked about gawd a lot

LOL. Wut.

Are you serious?

Here. I'll help. Go to Google. Hell, just Google Roy Moore Washington Post. Then, use the filter tool to look only prior to 2017.

Get back to me on that "never had to worry about the national press" shite.

Damn people. Just intellectually dishonest to the core.

Everyone using this as an excuse to hand wave the accusations away as fake news have zero understanding of sexual assault psychology or how small town secrets in the face of the top 5% of investigative journalists in the country work.

Apparently these "victim's" calendars only denote election cycles.

Because national elections bring about national investigative journalists itching to break a big story and chatty old bats with secrets to spill.

Don’t attribute a vast liberal conspiracy to what is more easily explainable by more completely mundane reasons. Gov. Bentley’s transgressions should have taught everyone that Alabama politics is a fricked up and corrupt place, but now we’re suddenly casting that aside because there are political consequences for Republicans

EVERYONE should complain about telling the world 40 years later.

I'm sorry. We need to get off this stupid mentality that says you can go try and ruin someone 40 years after the fact and bring no evidence to the table.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to defend oneself from such an attack and if Americans are fricking stupid enough to play the whole, "she's the victim" card..........you can bet your arse there's going to be a lot of FAKE victims.

Again...for the purposes of this discussion we are assuming that as a 32 year old, Roy Moore sexually assaulted a 14 year old girl.

In that situation, I personally have no problem with the victim ruining his life whether it was 40 minutes later or 40 years later. He committed the act and she made him eventually pay for it.

Also don’t falsely equivocate 30+ corrobative sources for 4 alleged victims with the idea that anybody anywhere can just shout “sexual assault” and national news papers will just print wild accusations blindly. I have my own problems with outrage culture (on both the right and left, the #boycottKeurig is stupid as hell) , but people need to get a grip and think about this reasonably, and take it case by case.

Moore’s case looks pretty damn awful.

Sorry, but I reserve a healthy bit of cynicism when politics is injected. We just went through an election cycle where a major party hired a firm to train people how to instigate violence at rallies and colluded with major news orgs to negatively shape public perception against a candidate. The same party that rigged it's own primary. I wish I could say with a straight face that this is beneath even them, but trotting out supposed victims every election cycle has become a common tactic of the left. It varies only by what victomhood is currently in fashion. Remember when anti-bullying was the soup de jour? We were then told about how Romney bullied a kid when he was 13? LoL
