Pretty much - we would be 1 "Weak Knees" John Roberts' vote away from losing a lot of things, frankly, at the last line of defense for the worst of it.
And as far as open borders, stovepiping terrorists directly to neighborhoods near you, confiscatory taxation, business destroying regulations, etc. Think Obama on steroids, but those steroids are also on steroids.

Yes - America as a happy nation - a bulwark against tyranny and oppressions - will devolve into another Venezuela - only there will be no USA to bail us out.
The spiral into tribalism and internal rot will be unstoppable. I thought we had begun that downward spiral with the election of Obama and seeing the direction of his administration. I really thought it was an unstoppable process - and it may well have been.
The election of Trump - someone who I detested on a personal level - appeared as a life saver from heaven tossed out onto a stormy sea. Trump was the equivalent of the western genre of the hard-drinking whore-mongering devil-may-care saloon rat who stood up to the evil sheriff and whipped the arse of every toady in the saloon before riding off into the sunset.
Trump is still in the midst of that western genre barroom fight and the evil sheriff's todays have called in their allies from neighboring counties to help quell the upstart. Trump will lose if enough good townspeople don't grab their guns and run the toadies out of town now. If the toady allies come to the 'rescue' in time, it will all be over.

But a lot of us have a great aim. One box of 30-06 ammo has lasted me thru four deer hunting seasons of full tags with a few rounds left over.
There are a lot of us old-timers who would rather go out in a blaze of glory defending the ideals of what America once stood for, than to die in a waiting line to see a doctor under your vision of paradise.
I would volunteer for the front lines of such an event to take a bullet that might save some younger patriot.
