If progressives love socialism so much, why don’t they ever defect?

I’m sitting at my desk working on a model while I listen to the Braves game on the radio. They were talking about the Reds shortstop and how he defected from Cuba to flee communism.
This made me start thinking of why do we never hear of progressives leaving the US for places like Cuba or Venezuela? I mean, if I were living in a country where I believed the government was unjust, oppressive, and I had the option of leaving that country to live in a country where the government shares my values, I’d be gone in a heartbeat. So why don’t progressives do this?

If it ever came to that point here they would be the first ones eliminated or locked up. They would be considered weak and unruly for supporting it and cast aside like trash after being used. Poor bastards are too stupid to realize this.

The only way for Cubans to play baseball in America is to defect. Not a great argument... But I get where your going and I agree with your point.
Imagine getting signed by Real Madrid for a 100 million dollars. You wouldn't have to defect, but if you absolutely had to you prolly would if the offer was made. At least I would. I could manage living in high tax Europe for that amount of money. There are great humans everywhere on Earth.

Because they need us destroyed and our laws and freedom of speech ensure they get to push their agenda. Vice Versa, they exploit the freedom of speech to stage violent protest and use racism as an armor.

Because being a US citizen I have the same right to complain as you do. Because I love my country as much as you do. Because I can complain about Trump as much as you complained about Obama. Because I accept that there is always going to be differences of opinion in this country. Because I don’t think you have to leave if you disagree with me. Because I’ve seen government run programs save lives.

Because they want their own brand of socialism. The other countries didn't do it right...and liberals believe they can do socialism better.
