Crazy cat lady is the answer.
Literally.
Literally.

The reality is that there really is not an heir apparent. Vance can't handle it, Rubio is too GOPe for the MAGA rank and file. Don, Jr. ain't Don Sr. in terms of charisma or ability. Not that there are Democrats that are any better. The 2028 race will probably be dominated by competency types from the respective political parties. In that case you might be looking at governors. Maybe DeSantis for the Republicans or Josh Hawley from the Senate side.

Pay attention to who "writes" a book beginning next year

You know, now that I think about this, Tulsi is going to be a fascinating one to watch. I always thought she was going to write a tell-all book at some point. My hope was that she would be able to hang on so we could get a full term worth of stories.
I believe she is in the Joe Kent camp on Iran, but she is smart enough not to go on the public speaking circuit yet. The balancing act will be (JD may have this situation, too) how do you distance yourself from some of Trump's decisions without upsetting his supporters?

Whomever writes a book talking about "policy" or something aspirational like Obama is whom you should pay attention to.

MAGA isn’t done. There’s currently a set of trend-seeking grifters who will just switch like the wind to whatever X tells them will get them engagement. But the masses can smell the bullshite.
JD is your 2028 nominee and literally anyone who believes otherwise is retarded.

MAGA is just getting started - this term is amazing - and by the time Trump is done in his third term we will all be so thankful for his sacrifice

Those who believe it...and vote.

It can’t be done for some in the MAGA twitterverse. The list of traitors to the cause grows by the hour. No dissent allowed.
These people aren’t as strong in numbers as they appear here, imo. At some point you just ignore them and trust most people on the right are capable of some level of discernment.

Who fits these criteria:
Aggressively anti-deficit/debt; favors major spending cuts.
Low taxes, deregulation, free markets and smaller government.
Generally opposes tariffs; favors free trade.
Strong Fed critic; favors auditing/restraining the Fed.
Strongly non-interventionist; opposes undeclared wars and nation-building.
Opposes substantial U.S. funding and involvement in foreign affairs.
Supports Israel’s right to defend itself but opposes large-scale U.S. foreign aid and military entanglement.
Oppose U.S. military action without congressional authorization in Iran.
Strong border enforcement; supports restrictions on illegal immigration.
Very strong Second Amendment advocate; opposes all federal gun restrictions.
Strongly pro-life.
Strong Fourth Amendment/privacy advocate; opposes warrantless surveillance.
Favors state/local control of education and a dramatically reduced federal role.
Favors domestic energy production and less federal regulation.
Favors strict limits on presidential power, particularly over war and spending.
A guy that supports and acts on these things is who I want.

It's not going to be who is all that, but who can convince you that he is all that without necessarily being all that.
Posted on 8/17/26 at 5:09 pm to KiwiHead
That’s the way it works for sure.
However, one guy actually is that but I’d hated by the MAGA crowd.
