If local request unnecessary, why didn't Trump deploy National Guard earlier on J6?

Many on the Board HATE questions, but I need help reconciling these two events. I believe President Trump proved that he offered both the Mayor of DC and Capitol Hill leadership to deploy the National Guard for J6...and that the lack of control on J6 was the fault of the Mayor and Capitol Hill leadership.

If the President can use his own judgment without local input (which is obviously true, Eisenhower/Little Rock, etc), why didn't President Trump go ahead and deploy the Guard in advance for crowd control on J6? Why did he need anyone's request?

FWIW, I think the vast majority of J6 protestors were nonviolent and had no intention of going into the Capitol. They were provoked by agents AND police violence.

He benefits from one mob and he's hindered by the other.

Well Jan 6 wasn’t a violent riot requiring armed intervention for one.

Kash Patel showed written proof in court that Nancy Pelosi and the DC mayor rejected the National Guard days before J6.

Probably bc what happened on J6 was controlled within a few hours?

The actions began around 1:00pm and police had the building cleared before 6:00pm.

What’s currently going on in LA is escalating and uncontrolled.

This looks nothing like J6. These two events aren't comparable in any way.

Yep. Trump offered and Pelosi said no. The Dems wanted J6 to happen. We all watched cities burn, federal court employees needing security just to enter their place of work, and courthouses under seige by violent protesters in far left cities. Meanwhile, Capital Police were opening doors and giving escorts to J6 protestors. Not the same. Not the same at all!

By all means though, please continue to “ask questions” that are solely designed to frame a false narrative.

What am I missing? The President said he offered to provide Guard troops a few days prior to J6, but the Mayor and Capitol Hill leadership declined. The deployment in California of the National Guard over Newsome's objection shows that the President has the power to deploy irrespective of what local authorities think.

I don't know this for any fact, but my guess would be maybe the rules are different concerning the District of Columbia.

Emotions have been running extremely high around here for quite some time. Unfortunately, you will not get many (if any) serious responses to your question.

My take is that Donald Trump basically organized and endorsed J6, so he did not want to crash his own party.

You are comparing one act that would have been preemptive, to one that was re-active.

Your question on its face is disingenuous.

Harder to justify send in the Guard when nothing had happened yet. In this instance we’ve seen rioting for days making it more justifiable to send the Guard in
