AggieHank with the rare great post that I wholeheartedly agree with.

frick Lincoln. That man was a genocidal tyrant that shite on the constitution and dishonored the spirit and rationale of the American revolution against the British Crown.

That Abe Lincoln is fellated as a saint when he was the furthest thing from that in his real life?

No need to bump that. It’s seen every single day.

Indeed. Lincoln is the one who truly birthed the big fat blob of a monster known as the American federal government today and we’re only heading downhill now because of his efforts.

May he rot in hell.

Absent a bloody Civil War, the USA and CSA would likely have forged both economic and political ties and jointly continued something like the Monroe Doctrine.

Most likely true. What would Western expansion look like? The South would need Pacific ports. California would have probably stayed in the Union, so the Confederacy would have had to move from southern Arizona/New Mexico to take over parts of Mexico to the ocean. We would probably have fewer problems with illegals and cartels.

So, Lincoln is also responsible for all the deaths caused by cartel violence and the future downfall of this country to foreign invaders.

Short sighted people have always existed. In no shape manner or form do I support slavery anywhere at any time. If the U.S. had waited for 25 years or so the Civil War would had not been necessary because of the McCormick reaper. This device ( along with the steam tractor and Deere's plow) would and has cancelled the need for slaves in agricultural settings .The South would have ended slavery because of these economics.

I’m not sure what you are getting at here. Is it your belief that the founders would have been ok with a secession?

Of course they were, have you not read the 2nd amendment?

“A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Context is important, they were there as free states with the purpose of forming a union of states, but because they didn't trust large centralized government they wanted to ensure that should they choose to leave the Union and become a free state, that the federal government would not be able to prevent them from obtaining the means to defend their now free state. That's what the 2nd amendment is for.

“A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The Civil War was a tragedy that should have and probably could have been averted, had cooler heads prevailed.

Slavery's days were numbered. In a very few years it likely goes away on its own, and thousands of lives are spared.

Yeah, no.

Had secession been ignored by the United States government, California would have seceded as well. Texas most likely secedes from the Confederacy at some point as well.

There eventually would have been a war between North and South due to the fact that they would have been competing out west for territory and resources. Southern power brokers believed the only way slavery could survive is if it continued to expand. That expansion would have eventually led to war between the United States and the Confederacy.

Dude.

The founders led a successful secession from the British Crown.
