If it weren't for my Christian beliefs, I'd probably be 100% libertarian

I find myself more and more affiliated with libertarian thought, but I can't support some of their positions because it conflicts with my Christian beliefs. Anyone else in this boat?

Well, a libertarian would probably be ok with legalized prostitution. I could never support this because I consider it sinful.

I don’t think that Christianity and Libertarianism are all that different from each other.
Christianity asks that we give to Cesar that which is Cesar’s and to Christ that which is Christ’s.
I try to live my life the way the good book tells me, and avoid hurting other people. I’ll always forgive. And I believe in the power of redemption. Everyone is just trying to figure it out. Unless your actions harm another, I see no Reason to intervene.
I don’t know what about me being a Christian requires that I try to tell someone else how to live their life, which is sort of a very libertarian idea. I can give someone else advice if they ask, hold their hand when they are scared, but I cannot make anyone do the right thing. That’s up to each of us.
I think that’s pretty much all that Christianity asks us to do. I let God deal with the sins of others. Got enough problems dealing with my own.

I am against prostitution and drug use. Doesn't mean I think the government should have wars against it.

I understand this, but sometimes Christianity puts one in a spot to choose a political position and that's mostly what I'm talking about. Not necessarily how I conduct my personal business.

I support legalized, safe and tested prostitution.
If women want to use their bodies to make money, they should have every right to do so in a free market free of coercion and people pushing religious morality on them.

You don't have to support it. God gave man free will. You will not be judged for the sins of others, only your own.
The only issue I sit on the fence on is abortion. It doesn't effect me, but I feel like the unborn should have a right to live, at least in the 3rd trimester.
Everything else is personal freedom. You don't tell me what to do or believe and I won't tell you.

You need more Hoppe in your life. There would be no drugs, prostitution, or homosexuality in a libertarian society

Now this I don't understand.

Should things be illegal just because they are sinful?
We're going to make a libertarian out of you TODAY.

I don’t think those two ideologies are as seperate as you feel they are.
From my persepctive, the christian persepctive is to try and persuade people to avoid sinful behavior such as prostitution. Not to take everyone guilty of it and throw them in a cage.
You can be a christian against prostitution and also believe that criminalizing it doesn’t address the key, underlying issues that these people are dealing with.

Not criminalizing something doesn’t equal supporting something. For example, divorce for reasons other than infidelity is a sin, but I have no issue with people getting divorced. That sin is between them and God, it’s not my place to make that judgment.
Criminal laws should only be in place only to deter or punish people who harm people who either did not give consent or are unable to give consent. In the case of prostitution, both parties are giving consent; therefore, it shouldn’t be a crime.
Think about how much better policing would be if they weren’t chasing down drugs and other consenting crimes. They might actually be able to focus on catching thieves, rapist, and murders. I would much rather them putting all their man hours into the later, plus we would likely have even more resources to do so because we wouldn’t be supporting such a huge prison population.

The next time this happens will be the first. This is completely impossible.
The problem with libertarianism is that it ignores that we are not mature enough to sustain a libertarian society and have enough desire to protect it from usurpers either through apathy or some misguided concept of "freedom".

Do you support “the wall”?

Then don’t be a prostitute. You are clearly no libertarian. You think your beliefs apply to others.
