People who don’t break the law use guns for ethical reasons, target shooting, hunting, protection. People who break the law use guns for murder, those people will still have guns if guns were banned, just like drugs. Abortion is murder.

Sorry, I misread question. I’d assumed most abortion doctors would stop. Self induced abortions would still happen I’m sure.

No. The Alabama ban puts the crime on the abortionist, not the woman. The analogy would by the NY law banning the sale, not the possession.

There were fewer abortions performed before they were legalized.

Have you been shot lately? If it were not illegal to shoot people than every one of us on this board would have already been shot multiple times

Why would a Georgia abortionist leave the state and enter Alabama? You do know that the law is against the abortionist and not the woman that chooses to have an abortion, right?

Make it a class A felony for any person or employee of any organization to manufacture a gun and it would likely Change the number of guns available. Or you could buy a gun in another country while you are there to get an abortion.

There are gun deaths every single day. Laws do nothing to prevent them.

True

But you were also correct.

Quite obviously, the fact it is illegal to shoot people results in fewer shootings.

If I could shoot people just cause I was mad at them and get away with it, I suspect that at some point in my life, someone woulda gotten shot!

guns is to murder as
sex is to abortion.

Your question should be "If gun laws won't stop murder why would sex laws stop abortion?"

So if you advocate for gun restrictions do you also advocate for sex restrictions?

My guess is that you do not advocate for sex restrictions, so don't equate it to the restrictions of guns. This is why you look bad.

If abortion was banned in the US using Alabama's law then the number of abortions would decrease from close to 1 million a year to less than 50k

Fewer gun deaths in places with stricter gun control laws.

The fear of going to Hell, the possibility of you dying also, as well as having an IQ over 90 keeps people from getting shot. Not laws.

No doubt. I was more worried about the people who would shoot me, given the chance.

You wouldn't cap me , would you Rob?

murder rates are consistent with demographics. Not gun laws.

The people who can afford to travel to get abortions will get abortions. The poor people will not get abortions.
