BION there is actually an even more progressive version ("progressive casting" may in fact be the name) where producers are to actively seek to cast PoC in roles and avoid casting wypipo if at all possible

The whole marketing thing is baffling to me because they are targeting the opposite demographic of those with the most disposable income. I have never really let advertising drive my purchases but I am now paying attention to what companies won't be getting my money.

Another perfect storm is theatrical films. Black people "open" -- that is, they make up a huge part of the opening weekend audience for a movie. As studios make most of their money in the first two weeks of a film's release (after that, their % of the BO take goes down) getting that audience is very important to them.

And today, regular whites are. There was one product I can say had a normal white family only in their ads, where the dad wasn't made to look like a dumbarse. What is interesting is that black woman aren't more upset with the fact that the majority of couples in commercials are black guys with white women...cause we all know that is reality.

OK - this crap has got to STOP!!! Dammit to hell - I have looked for the past 15 YEARS and have not found ONE black man in ANY commercial who was seemingly unable to deal with a tangled up garden hose!!!!

Not really though. When the government pays your mortgage, the government buys your food with EBT, you get free or discounted services on everything TV, internet, cell service , etc... You get a welfare check and sell dope when not playing video games. Your disposable income is pretty good
