Why now?
You get that reverse mortgage when you are first eligible and never have to worry about paying it back no matter how much interest has grown between mortgage inception and your passing. Although the younger you are the less money you can borrow.
It is your estate or children’s problem if they want to keep the house. Otherwise the house becomes the mortgage company’s problem and they have to eat the loss if the value of the house is less than the accumulated interest and total borrowed. So if Billy took out the Reverse Mortgage at 62, and lives into his 80’s, as long as he stays current on taxes and insurance he can continue to live in the house without the threat of foreclosure.
But I would think with someone with the vast lifetime earnings of Bill O’Reilly, a reverse mortgage would be the last thing on his mind, unless he made some terrible financial decisions in his lifetime.

You Say that Me To got him fired, but it's more than that. A women who worked at Fox brought some sexual assault allegations against him. She sued Fox news and Fox settled for some large amount.
His ex- wife also detailed some domestic violence incidents in their divorce hearings, saying that he dragged her down the stairs by her hair. All of this came out about the same time as the Fox law suit and Fox said it was time for him to go.
