For my money, if I were a betting man, JMHO, FWIW.....I believe these types of folks are waaay too caught up in their "legacy" and "how history will look upon them" to do anything like this.

Why would that cause a melt? He’s despised on here. I expect him to side with the liberal wing very often if Barrett replaces RBG anyway.

Well I say that's exactly why he wouldn't. "Artificially" manipulating the balance of the Court is a nasty legacy to anyone but the liberal "base" and that's not a base of folks any Supreme Court CJ would want to claim.

Not sure what that would change. I’m pretty sure Roberts is the reason the originalist judges won’t grant cert on any 2A cases.

Roberts doing such a thing is no solid or reliable answer to anything. They are humans that compose the Court, anything could happen to any of them at any time. So with that thought in mind I couldn't imagine Roberts being confident enough in any real certainty to result from that move. The cost outweighs the benefit, IMO.
Plus, my opinion on all the court-packing talk is that it nothing but bluff and bluster. It's not going to happen. Again, JMO.

Resign to allow Biden to appoint Obama, yes he would. Biden has named SCOTUS appointments such as---- Obama and a long list of radical black females that Loretta Lynch looks moderate in.
It was reported Obama spied on the supreme court & everybody and their mother. The older lefty Justices will retire and Roberts will take one for the team.
I think the dems are seething because the plan was 4 to 4 and the election goes to the SCOTUS.
If Biden wins the projects and working class will be gone from job and house loss. Will Biden open a homeless camp for deplorables? Without the working class who will build the buildings, do repairs, fix the HVAC, for the wealthy to be CEO in?
