I'm in the Alabama countryside, from Louisiana though. Wouldn't trade being here for nothing. I feel like I could fend for me and my wife should the SHTF. And that may well happen.....soon.

I live between Austin and Marble falls , if it got bad enough I’d go to our lease in SanSaba . Plenty of WhiteTail , BlackTail “Angus” , and piggies . I’ve got plenty rice and dry beans . Well water not the best but I have an RO in my camper . I’d like to get a solar generator just for refrigeration.

Texas will be a radioactive wasteland. Save yourselves. Do not come here. Please. Do not come here.

Then there's the fact that it's mostly red and full of patriots, more guns per-capita than 90% of the other states. We have the unique aspect of having rednecks in the south, west, east, and central areas; hillbillies in the north half; gangstas in Little Rock; and a mix of all of the above surrounding LR in the center.

It's also surrounded by southern red states on all sides but the north, and even Missouri would probably be on our side in this scenario.

Excluding St Louis, COMO and KC....MO is pretty much a redneck paradise. I’m not sure about Springfield but I think it’s still pretty conservative as a whole.

If I were a doomsday person I’d probably pick a spot somewhere near Hwy 65 in North Central Arkansas.

I think there’s a lot of good hideouts between Springfield MO and Fayetteville...

Don't worry. All the real redasses have crossed the Red into Oklahoma. Texas is overrun with transplants.

I’d also have to say Wyoming. You could disappear out there in the wilderness, live off the land, and never be found.

I am in the process of moving from Alabama to NW Arkansas. Part of the reason for doing this is in case the SHTF. I started this process last September. I will be closer to family and my brother has a lot of guns, ammo and the ability to defend and survive without power. If the SHTF does not happen I am still closer to family.

Texas has become too urban.

Anywhere in the rural South.
