You are being pedantic. Yes if you and only you wear a mask, it doesn't do much if others don't (obviously).

The message to wear masks however is not only going out to you, i.e. if many (vast majority) individually follow the advice, mask wearing has the potential to reduce spread.

If everyone were to say 'If I wear a mask it won't make a difference', then yes it won't since you didn't wear one. The opposite of that is also true. Why can't you connect the dots?

Yet that is exactly the narrative inundating the internet and print/TV media. It's also been incorrectly asserted on this board MULTIPLE times since the POTUS tested positive. So what you seem to see as pedantic, I view as requisite correction.

What part don't you understand? At your table, you are with your self-selected group. When you leave the table you are around strangers. It would be impossible for it to be any simpler.

I am beginning to think you have some sort of brain damage.

And then my friends leave and I have no idea where they’re going after or where they’ve been before, just like the other strangers. You have no idea who your group has come in contact with. The whole logic behind wearing a mask to the table then taking it off when you sit down is ridiculous
I agree that fully indoor dining is less than ideal. The places I go have patio or else kind of open air where they can put up both walls and always have a breeze flowing through. I believe if you are outside, you are almost entirely OK. If you go inside to the bathroom, you put the mask on. It just isn't hard at all. It barely crosses my mind.

You guys are some stupid MFers! This virus has been around seven months and y’all still don’t know anything. Masks provide SOME protection, to the wearer, from COVID; however, the primary purpose is to protect everyone else from the WEARER. You must be willfully ignorant not to know this by now.

If you wear a properly fitted N95 mask you will be fairly well protected, however even that gives no protection against getting the virus on your hands then touching your eyes. Masks lower the reproductive factor, Ri, of the virus. This slows down the spread. They don’t prevent; they inhibit.
