It’s all being studied as we speak isn’t it. Better to be somewhat safe if signs pointing to something that helps?

Point is, wear one. Not gonna hurt you and it’s not a hoax. Shouldn’t be a political thing, by the way if we got to universal mask wearing the whole economy would open up.

I do. By the way if you’re avoiding crowds (where not all have masks on) you’d only come close to a few individuals on a daily basis and as long as you and they had masks on, transmission chances are low.

Economy is open in states that don’t have mandates brah. Talk to your liberal leaders if you want the economy to open up. I heard they’re waiting until mid November though

Ok 90%, you get the point. Better than shutting it down when wave 2/3 hits.

I do want the frickers to open it up more. They’re playing dirty, no doubt. I hate the democrats,I can’t stand AOC/Pelosi and the like. You should know not all are extreme leftists out here, if DJT were better I’d be all in on him. It’s like choosing between donkey shite and elephant shite.

I think you’re naive, but rather than belabor that notion please share the links to studies that scientifically assess the effectiveness of lockdowns in comparison to their extraordinarily underreported costs to the health of Americans (not to mention economic costs).

Ya I don’t want lockdowns either, I never said I’m for it.

Wearing a mask does have the scientific community saying it prevents spread.

Let’s be accurate. Masks have some in the scientific community guessing masks could possibly prevent spread. And curiously, those offering their guess on masks also guess that racism is a healthcare crisis in the country and are unwilling to go on record about how many genders there are.

Even a link you posted showed that the claim being posited by the scientists was unproven.

I think people are seeing this isn't a real quarantine.

Where I live, you can go to a restaurant sitting shoulder to shoulder with someone who is foreign to you and kids are constantly never wearing masks and they say...oh it's because you're outdoors.

The economy has opened up and it's because people aren't wearing masks. No economy would ever open up if you mandated universal mask wearing and especially the only ones that would ever work.

People couldn't eat out...wearing an N95 mask. It would be the complete opposite of the economy opening up.

So the public is just massively confused. Wait, I can eat Eggs Benedict next to some dude I don't know but I have to wear a bandana if I want to buy Pop-Tarts at the store?

If there was real science we'd all have to follow strict guidelines...not just random shite from State to State, County to County, city to city to do as they choose.

Negative.
Masking, handwashing, and distancing reduce spread.

Masks do not prevent spread. They reduce spread. That was the point.

Wearing a standard mask does not limit risk of infection if others are unmasked. In fact, in some instances it increases risk. Hence focus on the term "universal masking".

You need to publish that. It will be of great interest in the medical community.

He’s correct, actually.

Viral exposure is no different than exposure to any other toxin. The more you’re exposed to, the higher the health risk.

The role of the mask is debatable , obviously. But if a respiratory virus requires respiration to transmit (it does), then any attenuation of respiration would also attenuate transmission.

If air doesn’t flow freely, it can’t carry virus nearly as far and wide.

Mask don’t stop the spread, only slow it. Everyone will get it if given enough time.

Ever heard of someone never getting the flu? Ok then.

You're addressing a different point of the message. I'm keenly aware of viral load relative to prognosis. There is no evidence that one's wearing of a standard mask affects that. In response to the OP premise, a mask reducing contracted viral load for the wearer was the contention.
