If you legit believe that a 4-week blastocyst should have the same legal rights as a person with vested legal rights who happens to be unconscious, then we are not even speaking the same language.

It is very likely that it IS legal in the states where the majority of those 70% live.

Also known as a human.

Funny that we have names for other stages of human development but we still allow them to be humans. My infant son is in his “infant” stage and he’s definitely still a human.

Prof. Sowell is 100% correct.

I hold that poster responsible for nothing other than poor logic. “I blame the distant ancestors of today’s Dems. But not my grandpappy. He was Ok.”

Abortion - legal if you agree to hysterectomy after elective abortion (ie not medically necessary)

And by 1861 they overwhelmingly opposed it. What is your point?

The point is that white southerners didn't lead the way.

The north opened that door that let the demons out.

That is a bullshite question based on a bullshite premise.

In fact, the vast majority of Americans think late-term abortion should be illegal.

Your premise is what drove the idiots at a Mississippi Abortion Clinic to challenge a 15 wk ban. That brought the whole house of cards raining down.

Now if your question has to do with 6wk bans, then yes, those are politically stupid.

Abortion isn’t high on my list of issues either, but it makes no difference how popular it is. There’s only two questions. The first is what is abortion? Is it just a medical procedure or is it murder? If it is the latter, you ban it no matter how unpopular that makes you.

The second question is whether it matters that 60-70% of the country doesn’t agree with you, and it does not. The Supreme Court is unelected. The left can whine all they want about it, but there’s nothing that can be done about it without causing a much more serious crises that would cause a civil war. Are people going to fight a war so that women can have an abortion? No. The senate and the electoral college are additionally projected to be more and more Republican over the next 20 years as more and more Americans cluster in cities for work and rural areas grow older and whiter than the general population. If the Republicans can hold the senate and president while getting 35% of the vote in the general population, their responsibilities aren’t to the morality of the other 65%. The Dems can compete in the house, but that’s one half of one of the three branches of government. It’s why they are so wild right now, they know they’ve got a short period of time left where they will be able to govern themselves before they are subject to minority rule for a generation. If abortion you believe abortion is murder and that women and doctors should go to jail for it, now is the time. Who knows what happens two decades from now, but right now, the wind is at your back

Only if you’re inconsistent in your views, don’t care about liberty, etc. GOP is fricking themselves hard, as I’ve been saying for years. There aren’t enough coonasses to win with their wholly, “shite on everyone that isn’t a racist, hypocritical Jesus freak,” Iran-lite platform. Disgusting zealots with an adjustment disorder for liberty. All they do is cry and be triggered, bringing the country to a hault/backwards to “own the libs,” because principles don’t matter. Majority of country wants legal weed and has wanted it for a fricking decade+. What do conservatives do? Double down and keep the issue from being legitimately addressed to meet the public’s desires. Because the GOP doesn’t care about you/anyone. They care about taking as many varying opinions to the Dems as possible. Can make perfect sense for the country and their constituents, but they’ll still vote it down if Biden or Dems want it. Because they don’t.fricking.care about anyone that isn’t a billionaire.

You progs are so fricking dumb you cannot understand the issue.

"Banning" would get accomplished by Democratic action at the local and state level.

Its not just Californians, like 80% of independents think it should be legal.

SCOTUS did not make it illegal. SCOTUS made it a state-level issue, as it should be. All who want it to be legalized to some extent, just need to contact their local state legislators and have their voices heard.

Abortion isn’t as popular as the media/left/or sycophants want you to believe.

Go look at a map where abortion laws tightened after roe was overturned. Majority of the country realizes how barbaric it is. The media wants to paint you a different picture.
