IDF soldier looks for IED

In mid-April 2026, an IDF soldier in southern Lebanon took one look at a Jesus statue in the Christian village of Debel and apparently decided, “That’s not a religious icon… that’s clearly an IED in disguise.”
Out came the sledgehammer. He went full demolition mode on the head of the crucified figure while his buddy helpfully documented the “threat neutralization” for the group chat.

I don't know much about explosive ordnance disposal, but I do wonder if sledghammering bombs is the safest method of disarming them?

Well, from a religions stand point they don't have a good track record lately. Historically they're notorious for turning away from God. Rejecting Christ was just the latest example of that. I guess it chafes some people that they still want everything to be "all about them".

Yeah, my first thought if I think there’s an IED is to hot it with a hammer, inject more sarcasm if necessary
