SMH. We're living in a clown world, A scary, violent clown world

quote:

We have been discussing the destruction of statues and public art in the recent protests, including a new column this morning. I have been highly critical of the defacing of our monuments and destruction of public art. Now the destruction has reached my own campus. The Hatchet reports that one of our iconic busts of George Washington was torn from its foundation on campus. It has not however been discussed by the University or attributed to protesters.

...and the university will take no action against these "students," but will have countless seminars on diversity, race-relations, white guilt, and white privilege.

Question...

When these statues are toppled or pulled down or whatever, are they destroyed, or can the be put back up, or does it just depend?

While I recognize that there are some statues that should be removed, my primary objection is to the lack of a public debate over how we should address these calls.

Yeah, well the problem with this, is when it finally comes for something you care about it is too late... Stand the frick up or sit down and shut the frick up...

Either all statues are safe or none are....

Well I doubt it was due to the Mexico earthquake, so...

They must no be very smart over there, GW statues have been being torn down all over the country. Who woulda thunk the one at GWU was going to be safe? As always, the liberal mantra prevails, "For thee, but not for me"

They have been so outraged they chose to attend this “private” university. Sad.

No one said this was done by students. GW is in Foggy Bottom and very close to the White House and considering what was happening in that area last night I would presume this was part of the same thing.

Also, the campus is not like southern campuses it is urban and not a sprawling green space. The law school is literally across the street from the World Bank HQ. As a graduate of the law school it is very upsetting those busts are iconic. I hope they don't pulled down the statue in "the Yard"

Right now the "conversation" is you and me getting whacked in the head with a skate board by some Antifa thug while we beg forgiveness for being white.

It's their right to destroy anything they want, as long as it's shite the Democrats approve of.

A few white dudes show up with guns and have a legit peaceful protest, and all msm, Democrats, Hollywood gov of other countries....go fricking ballistic.
