I had heard what I'm about to type from a couple of my more questionable associates, and later with an Austin detective while on a long airplane ride with him.

Austin was, and may still be a vacation spot for the big shot cartel honc. There is a hoy-paloy neighborhood west of Austin called Cat Mountain. Some very rich and powerful people own mansions there. Hollywood types owned the low rent parts. Bullock, Burt Reynolds, Dolly Parton used to live there back in late 90s, early 2000s. This place was "off limits" to LEO. Apparently some type of deal was made with our federal law enforcement powers that be to allow Cartel people to stay at Cat Mountain for R&R only. No drugs, drug running, nothing, R&R only. What they did in return or to have the deal, who knows.
But that's the way it used to be with Columbian and Venezuelan mobsters back in the day in the ATX.

-Austin PD contacted by ICE for assistance with pursuit of Toyota. Crash and shooting happened before APD could respond.
-shot in back, just below neck
-two gunshots while in car ("foot pursuit" doesn't seem likely)
-on a DoorDash delivery
-wife and attorney not allowed into hospital
-released to ICE after about 5 hours
-client had applied for asylum, didn't know final status

Law IS evenly applied.
How can anyone argue otherwise?
Enforcement of law is achieved through use of force. The amount of force used is determined by the individual being detained and not by those attempting the detainment. In all cases, the maximum amount of force is lethal force. This is also evenly applied.
How can you not get this?

They also lied about a "car ramming" in Chicago. The US Attorney had to dismiss that case when the facts were revealed.

In this case, I think the video being available so quickly and the shot in the back is going to undercut a possible "self-defense" claim. We'll see. If Venezuela man tried to harm ICE, wouldn't he be charged with that?

The attorney has certainly given a lot more information than DHS. News Nation isn't a liberal outlet.
