Lol. This is what I was saying to Tigah. Some people make it about good guys and bad guys.

I don't detest anyone. If someone accuses me of something or says I have my facts wrong, I typically respond. If they're right, I acknowledge it. If not, I explain that.

At least with me, you have gotten to be a pretty useless poster. That just means you're a waste of my time. I don't detest you. I don't know you.

I've said many times I respect your service to our country and your superior knowledge of aviation and the military. I lost respect for you as a poster. Big deal. You don't have any respect for me. I will somehow survive.

No, it doesn't.

Did ICE do due diligence in hiring this dude?

This may be the only thing that could be related, IF he had any history of substance abuse in his record.

Where the ICE agents deployed to Fresno properly supervised (he is from Texas)?

This, and the fact that he is from Texas, 100% does NOT apply since he was off duty and not conducting any business in his official capacity as a federal agent.

Are the LT's in every ICE group supposed to babysit all their agents 24/7? This is not hard.

Right.
Pretti spit on an fed LEO and damaged a vehicle the week before. Had that been MPD, he'd still be alive today, because they would justifiably have arrested the deranged leftist goon. The federals let him go because of a dearth of numbers and a distraction from mission at hand.

Show me where Pretti was accused of any crime.
This is an example of "listening" with your fingers in your ears. Here is video of Pretti days before his death. The thing speaks for itself.

However, as I told you, he wasn't charged for those crimes. Had he been, he might still be alive.

the women weren't accused of breaking any laws. How could Pretti have been?
He was forcibly impeding/interfering with federal officers performing their duties. That is a crime, Hoss. Regardless of what CBS tells you.

Exactly!

The question is "was either Pretti or a Federal negligent?" We can safely say, Pretti, seeking physical conflict with LEO's while armed, meets the negligent threshold 6 ways to Sunday.

I don't rely on CBS for analysis. I showed you the report from CPB.

I have said repeatedly that Pretti should have been arrested previously when he kicked the taillight and spat at federal officers. Terrible police work not to have arrested him that day. As you pointed out, these Feds weren't trained or equipped to perform police duties.

On the day he was shot to death by team panic, he was not interfering with any federal function. According to CPB, it was the women who were blowing whistles in close proximity to the agents. Yet, CBP didn't claim that even the women were interfering.

Anyhow, whether or not Pretti was committing a crime is irrelevant. The only justification for lethal force is threat of serious bodily harm or death. Any well trained officer would have seen that Pretti---with several agents beating on him---didn't pose such a threat.

Pretti was exercising his 2nd Amendment rights, just as he had in his prior scuffle with the Feds. At no time in either instance did he "brandish" or reach for his gun. The best that can be said is that team panic overreacted when one of them yelled "gun" and then shot Pretti AFTER Pretti’s gun was removed.

Understandable mistake in a stressful situation? Of course. Good police work? Of course not.

Pretti was killed because he had been legally carrying a gun...right? Team panic wouldn't have killed Pretti unless he had been carrying a gun...right? Even as bad at police work as they were, team panic wouldn't have perceived a threat without the mistaken belief that Pretti’s gun---which had already been taken from him---was a threat.

Honk all you want, but Pretti was killed because he had exercised his 2nd Amendment rights.

Please answer this: would Pretti have been shot to death if he hadn't been carrying a gun?

You have simply lost your mind.

Not only did he interfere, he did it a couple of times.
He got pepper sprayed twice.
Then he tried to drag a detainee away from federal officers.

At that point they moved to arrest the lunatic. As they did, he continued to wrestle/resist ... all while he had a gun jammed in his pants.

This is a simple case of "sometimes bad things happen to stupid people."

Here's all the CPB report linked earlier said about why Pretti was shot. Unless you claim that it's lawful to shoot someone for "resisting being taken into custody" (no mention of an arrest for a specific crime), it was ONLY about the gun:

quote:

CBP personnel attempted to take Pretti into custody. Pretti resisted CBP
personnel’s efforts and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, a BPA
yelled, “He’s got a gun!” multiple times. Approximately five secondslater, a BPA discharged his CBP-issued Glock 19 and a CBPO also
discharged his CBP-issued Glock 47 at Pretti. After the shooting, a BPA
advised he had possession of Pretti’s firearm.

You're just making things up. Did you read the CBP report? The woman wasn't detained. No one was charged for interference...because there was no evidence of that.

Simple question though: would Pretti have been shot if he hadn't been carrying a gun?
