That is the article where said what I had quoted but it was in the context of gay marriage NOT Lawrence v Texas. So my original source was incorrect. But if you read his op ed on Lawrence his argument was not based simply on anti sodomy laws being not unconstitutional.

And based on the reaction of some liberals I know, they are already smearing him on MSDNC as a literal Nazi.

I know him and he does have some fighter and grit. He is insanely smart and sharp and can be diplomatic when possible but when it’s not possible, he is a fighter and can handle himself very well. Easily in the top 3 sharpest minds in the U.S. Capitol right now and a true conservative Patriot.
Watching him waste some of the arrogant smarty pants New Orleans Libs during the short time he was in the Louisiana legislature was great. I knew early into his term as a Louisiana House Rep that he'd wind up in Congress and be in some sort of leadership position. I did not expect House Speaker this quickly though. However, it's not that surprising given his demeanor, smarts and principles.

Trump can only win one more term as President. If it is going to happen, it is going to be 2024 or nothing. Johnson is not going to be running for President while Trump is running.

Tell us you have no idea what you’re talking about without telling us you have no fricking clue what you’re talking about.

You mean back when even Obama, Hillary and Biden didn’t think there was a constitutionally protected right to gay marriage and still won political elections as Democrats?
Posted on 10/26/23 at 4:09 am to ThuperThumpin
Do you think anyone in Congress is far left?
Posted on 10/26/23 at 4:18 am to ThuperThumpin
Man, you’re pissed he doesn’t give the figs an absolute pass to do whatever they want, huh? Look where that got us… Gay and hetero pornography as school sanctioned reading material for children, puberty blockers for minors, irreversible “gender affirming” surgery for minors, and dudes playing women’s sports, half naked drag queens twerking on children at sexualized drag shows, trannyfesto-writing freaks shooting and killing children in private Christian schools etc etc etc.

That guys nature has the ability to bring people together.
I saw it too (Replay) and the first thing I thought of when he thanked Jefferies and said "We may not agree on most things but I know you have a love for this country and we can and will work together on legislation" (Paraphrasing) First thing I thought of was oh no, he's lost about half of the conservative party voters because they don't seem to be interested in negotiated government anymore. (The ole give and inch regurgitation)
fwiw I think he's going to have a plan to the will to to the best for America. Time will tell if that gets him fired and kicked out or not. But I do think he'll bring both side of congress back together,( will the ones that are not too far gone in their isolationist views that it.)
As for President, who knows. There's a many a slip between a cup and a lip.

Soon Trump will be insulting him over some petty something that offends his ego and that will be Trumps big mistake.
It is inevitable.
Johnson is a real conservative and Trump is nothing but Trump and is a blowhard who takes no responsibility for his own failures.

He is openly Christian, White, anti gay/tranny bullshite and anti murder (abortion), ALL Democratic rallying points, now tell me that's not a step in the RIGHT direction. The Dumbercrats will hate him.

We love shiny new objects don’t we folks?
Not taking any away from Mike Johnson, but in spite of this being a Louisiana-centric board, I can’t recall him being mentioned at all prior to this.
It’s just interesting to watch people just fawn all over people without any contextual knowledge on who they are, how or what they will do. We have seen this new relationship energy n this board before with Vivek and RFKjr.
But yet now he is gonna be President.

He said... "There is clearly no 'right to sodomy" "And the right of 'privacy of the home' has never placed all activity with the home outside the bounds of the criminal law."
You are taking this totally out of context and you do not understand that he’s discussing this in the context of constitutional law. As Justice Thomas once noted in a dissent, law banning sodomy may be a stupid law, but it’s not an unconstitutional law.
Of course it's not unconstitutional.
But if you're on record as favoring the criminalization of homosexuality, you have zero chance of getting elected President of the United States.
“States have many legitimate grounds to proscribe same-sex deviate sexual intercourse,”

Listening to his speech reminded me that we do not have to put up with vitroil spewing in every speech of a politician.
A conservative such as Johnson would trounce a democrat like Biden or Newsom by ten points if on the ballot. The country is ready for honest leadership with conservative principles in the White House.
The best Trump will be able to do is maybe squeeze some crazy electoral college victory. He is not going to run away with the election. He certainly isn't honest and we know he is no conservative.
