Are you fricking kidding me? Manafort tried to intimidate potential witnesses for his upcoming trial. Read 18 U.S.C. § 1512
I missed his CONVICTION on that count. I missed it because there was none. Man convicted of nothing, and accused solely of white collar crime, is being held in jail w/o bail, and is in solitary confinement.

Now then, who is "kidding" who?
You seem incredibly intolerant of individual rights when they are confronted by an unjust and possibly corrupt legal system.

I find it unusual that charges were not brought by Rosenstein way back when but since Manafort worked for Trump it is now convenient to press charges.

Yep, the unspoken real crime in Rod Rosenstein's eyes. How dare he help thwart HER turn.

Lol, you fricking idiots laud and vote for the politicians, like Trump, that actively support the growing police state and convince yourselves "well, it'd be worse under the dems!"

If you guys actually cared about the overreach of the justice system, this is the kind of supreme court decision you'd be worried about.

Instead you let yourselves get your panties in a bunch hoping to overturn gay marriage and Row v. Wade, actively vote against your own civil liberties, and you've been so thoroughly duped that you actually blame liberals for it!

All kinds of wrong.

I want you to marry your boyfriend.

I want dems to abort more often.

Gay marriage is something that few care about. This is a strange thing to sky scream about.

That was an awesome melt though.

The only ones even talking about gay marriage or RvW is the shite media fear mongering on the scotus appointee or those responding to that.

Idiot.

Talk about your #FakeNews. Do you work for CNN?

Seriously, that's just fricking stupid. People are arrested and jailed on charges, not solely for a conviction.

Since you don't seem to understand our legal system I'll give you a general overview.

1. You are charged with a crime.
2. You are arrested.
3. Unless you make bail (including no-cost bail) you will spend your time in jail while waiting for your trial date.
4. You have your trial.

Paul Manafort was charged with a couple of felony crimes. When the charges were released he voluntarily turned himself in. Due to the nature of the crimes and his having good representation a deal was worked out where instead of having to bond out of jail as most people do, he was placed under house arrest. In December that house arrest was lifted, but that just meant he was considered to be out on no-cost bail.

He violated the conditions of his bail by contacting witnesses in his upcoming trial and having an accomplice do so as well. By doing so he proved he could not be trusted out on his own recognizance and thus his allowance to be out on bail was revoked.

Now then, who is "kidding" who?

Apparently you're kidding yourself by thinking you understand how the legal system works, the specifics of this case or both.

No, what I am intolerant of is ignoring a reality that happens every day simply for the sake of blind bias. The case against Manafort was being investigated long before Trump came along and there are reams of evidence that show his money laundering and tax evasion. Yes, I believe he is being made a scapegoat by Mueller and the media but that doesn't -and shouldn't- detract from the crimes he committed. It also does not -and should not- provide him any sort of excuse for knowingly breaking the law after the fact by attempting to contact witnesses.

So please, explain to me why someone that breaks their bail by attempting to intimidate/influence witnesses in their upcoming trial should be allowed continued freedom from jail.
