Sigh. No we're not. The anger was just as bad during Bush in the early 2000s, then it ramped up again under Obama and now we're in the beginning of Trump. This vitriol and party politics has been happening since I really noticed in the early 2000s, so the last 16+ years.
It's probably been just as bad even before I noticed.
America is bigger than any single President and if we're not then we deserve to fall.

I won't hijack any further. My main post was that the demographics of the military are pretty similar to the demographics of the country once you adjust for the fact that Hispanics aren't considered minority in the published stats.
That's kind of not true, though. That's what I'm saying. You're not really accounting for geographic origin and income (which are just as important), not to mention actual role within the military. The people that really fight the wars for this country come from a pretty narrow slice of the population.

We are already in one. Two ideologies one of freedom of thought and one of repression of thought. One side sees hitler the other sees reality. Those two sides can't be reconciled.

Here you go
Spend a day in an infantry platoon or a special operations team, and you'll see what I am saying. I did some work on this when I was in on some of those campaigns that were trying to recruit more minority officers to combat arms (as combat arms officers tend to get promoted quicker).
It's not healthy for the republic, but it's a consequence of the volunteer military. It's not un-American; it is what it is. Frankly, the fact that military has become more and more of a generational occupation is even more of an issue. But if you don't want to know who is fighting the wars and why, then you're sticking your head in the sand.

I say we just let those states that want to secede go ahead and secede. Would free up a lot of money, and those states are shitholes anyway.

I'm not too worried about war with the lefties. Their frail vegan bodies would be completely exhausted halfway through the first battle.

Someone that lives in Louisiana calling California a shithole is funny.

Those numbers also skew very much in one direction the closer you get to combat arms.
Absolutely true, and not just infantry MOSs, either. A large amount of minorities stick to certain fields, generally speaking.

California is a shithole. There are some nice places in the state, but the people more than make up for that.

The difference being that I did not claim that the west coast states were shite-holes.

Neat. There are a lot of "nice places" in Afghanistan, too.
The state still sucks.

California would be great save for there's a lot of Californians and illegal aliens.

I agree. In the right hands, California could be the best state in the country.

And what reality is that? An alternative reality?
Is that the one where Obama wants to give everyone Ebola?
Or how bout the one where Liberals want to destroy America, you know, the place we call home?

Stupid comparison, but you knew that.
