Resign over the political hot potato, that has been part of the national zeitgeist for 20 years, finally dropping? Color the center shocked, shocked I say, that such a chain of events could happen. Hopefully the Taliban is smart enough to not shoot down evacuation planes. We don't need a new vengeance operation thought up. At least this is happening with a relatively normal administration, so the media gets their headlines, the CIA and whoever else attempt to leave their poison pills for the next comer, and the rest of us stay vaguely amused at the wargarble nonsense of politicizing this when the vengeance mission had been for a decade. Why were our kids there after?

In a just and fair world, you'd be right.
But Joe Biden didn't win the 2020 election. Trump did nothing wrong to deserve a 2 year investigation, and then 2 impeachments. Jessie Smollett would be serving time for a fake police report. Obama and Hillary Clinton would have to pay for their part in Benghazi. Hillary would face the music in her part of destroying and distributing top secret material on her home server.
So we don't live in world where fair is the bottom line.

The Democrats will never be able to live this down. January 6th will now fall on completely deaf ears now that people have people have seen an actual insurrection. Honestly Republicans have no excuse to not win 90% of the House and every avaliable Senate seat outside of Vermont and Hawaii. If thousands of Americans die from this, then it’s the end of the Democrats. The only excusable districts to now lose are SF and Portland. Even a lot of LA and NYC could go Republican (not AOC/Waters districts).
