There is a special place in hell for people who fire commie ammo through an AR15.
Hell? C'mon man. If we are shooting commies with commie ammo all is fair.
It's better than nothing. Oh and there's alot of 223/5.56 out there made by commies as well. I shoot it all. Don't even care

Check gun broker
Gun Broker is terrible. Was looking for a 10-22 and ordered one from there. Long story short, it took me months to get my money back. Scam.

12 gauge pump. 18in barrel..all you need to protect home.

I actually had a good experience on Gun Broker, but I bought from a guy who was 2 hours away from me. After I won the auction I drove to meet him to complete the deal. Saved on shipping and FFL transfer.
Unfortunately stopped to do some fishing on the way home, and you know the rest of the story....

I load a slug, followed by buck shot, followed by bird shot.
First round has good spread peppering the intruder, the second will knock him down, the third is finishing him off

Do people like cleaning fouling out of every crevice and surface inside an AR receiver and bolt? when there is a perfectly good, easy to do, relatively cheap was to quickly convert a direct impingement ar to a short stroke gas piston, with literally no downside except a tiny bit more weight at the front of the gun?
whatever you get, do yourself a piston conversion on it. runs cooler, get an adjustable gas block, runs waaaaaaaaaaaay cleaner, etc, etc, etc.

I was at a cabela’s about 2 weeks ago in Colorado. Zero ammo left aside from shotgun shells. Guy there said it’s been like this since reopening. They actually have been postponing access to that section to restock and gone in 24 hours again

For those who can't locate the AR they want, a reliable alternative is a Marlin 30-30. Smaller capacity, but more knock down power. Everyone talks about having more bullets, but when push comes to shove, shot placement with a larger caliber is just as reliable. Not to mention, a lot less moving parts. Simple and Reliable. A must in every gun safe IMO.

Has anyone tried 3d printed guns?

Hydro sonic cleaner and purple power is far more reliable than an adams gas system. DI ARs are reliable and easy to maintain whereas the gas system just adds more failures points.

30-30 is great! What about SKS availability? I’ve got one rusted to shite and it never fails.

I think it’s really what you desire on a build or a completed build. DI or Piston, either one is fine.
I’m not a spec-ops operator, so DI works fine for me.
But yes... Piston is cleaner especially for 3rd burst or more. But that’s a whole different animal.

quote:where do you imagine these additional failure points are, where a piston system is less robust? You have a self cleaning melonited cup around the gas plug , a solid steel rod, and a spring, and a much more sturdy contact point on the modified bolt carrier than any gas key. I've got many many thousands of rounds through mine, not a single reliability issue, ever

I know men who are exactly like you have described. They were very proud southern democrats but guess what they became when they voted for Trump?
