I’ve heard it said a few times that big swinging dicks don’t care about private jets beyond the speed and convenience of it within their busy schedules. In other words, they’ll fly commercial in a heartbeat if it’s quicker

I’d assume in most cases it is a hell of a lot easier from just a logistical standpoint to simply book an existing commercial flight to get from point A to point B.
I have to imagine that is often the sole consideration, no matter how much one is worth.

I saw Oprah in the Vegas Airport I thought the same thing. WTF is she getting off a commercial flight and walking down the concourse. People were whipping out their phones and getting pics naturally and she was getting pissed about getting her pic taken. No one was blocking her but she sure had a bitch face on.

I am in the industry; this is true to an extent. I also have alot of clients that will go to great lengths to avoid stepping on a commercial flight.
Usually guys with smaller Citations, turbo props etc will fly first class/business for trips to Europe/South America etc. It is around $250k minimum to charter a GIVSP/Challenger 604 from the East Coast to Western Europe for a round trip

Private jets are hella expensive. And I don't mean to own, I mean even just to charter.
He may simply not want to spend that kind of money (even if he has it) on something that isn't necessary.
That goes for building it into his speaking fees. I don't know what he gets to speak, but let's say it's $200,000 (it may be significantly more or less than that, I'm literally shooting in the dark).
If chartering a private jet costs $50,000 round trip (which it well could), he might rather spend $2,000 flying 1st class and pocket the additional $48,000 instead.
If so, good for him.
