I have read a lot of unhinged thoughts on DU

over the years, but damn, this takes the cake:
Here's what I believe what this Cal/Nat Guard deployment is all about
It is a test run. Trump is looking for an excuse to declare martial law BEFORE the mid terms. He will do anything he can to provoke the people into some kind of confrontation. Then declare ML, activate the US military for deployment on US soil to arrest any citizens he feels is a threat to his rule. Once the troops are deployed he will suspend the mid term elections indefinitely. The spineless republicans in Congress will do nothing. The Democratic leaders in Congress will be arrested as enemies of the state.
However, controlling 330 million people that is armed to the teeth might prove to be a difficult tiger to subdue

The problem is I've seen multiple calls for martial law on this board by people just as deranged and removed from reality. DU has no monopoly on crazy.

I'm not supporting martial law but do you think what's happening on LA is justified under free speech and if so how it this different that yelling fire or gun in a crowded movie theater?

Most of the guns are owned by people that voted for Trump and would welcome martial law placed on blue states and cities. Not sure DU understands the lack of support they have.

People wanting something to happen and people predicting what someone will do, are not the same thing.
If I get mad and say I want the police to arrest all the homeless people and detain them indefinitely without warrants. I'm just angry and over-reacting.
If I say there is a plan in the works where the governor is going to secretly arrest all the homeless people and put them in prison indefinitely without warrants, then I am a wacked-out conspiracy nut.
These are completely different thoughts and are not comparable.
