I absolutely believe there will be Dems voting for Trump. I don’t believe that a bunch of Dems from New York who didn’t vote for him last time will vote for him in 2020. Not that many. Not enough.

That is good to hear Toddy. I hope that deep down inside you know that most of us who don’t vote for progressives couldn’t give a damn if you are gay. There will always be a hateful fringe on ( both Right leaning and left leaning)that we all have to ignore, but not silence. I am glad to know that you will be more of a cautious ally rather than a full fledged progressive.

Oh I don’t know that many people, but some of them are the types that were really, really pissed when he won in 2016 and they have completely given up on the dem party. These are liberals in NYC, it won’t make a difference here but if these people are turning to Trump then a lot more dems across the country are turning to Trump. Trump will win in a landslide. There are more than you think, I’m one of them.

You ned to stop calling them the Democratic party - they are the DEMOCRAT party - there is no element of 'democracy' in their makeup.

Well said. Man I tried for years to hold on. But I see what’s coming up and I want nothing to do with it.
Sounds like you are wrestling with the idea to leave too. Trust me, there is a peace that comes from looking yourself in the mirror and knowing you did the right thing. I may never work in politics/govt again, but I am staying true to my principles.

Many. The Congressman from from NJ won’t be the last high profile person to leave the party. But many from the rank and file are leaving and will leave soon.
