Tim Scott doesn’t bring anything to the table to help win this thing
JD will help tremendously in helping win Ohio, Michigan and PA
Trump doesn’t need help with Florida so no DeSantis or Rubio
Burgam brings absolutely nothing for helping win the election - glad he is out
The best strategic pick is JD plus he is an insanely good debater
Brent Hume doesn’t like JD so that’s a good thing to me.
Vivek - the entire plot unfolded.. Vivek will be replacing JD in the Senate
Tulsi - I could tell she reaaaaaaaally wanted the VP but I am not sure why he didn’t pick her
Nikki Haley - absolutely not
I think Sarah Huckabee would have been the grand slam… JD so far has a triple in my book

We need new blood and youth in DC. He’s young, smart, passionate. I just don’t understand what’s not to like about the pick. He seems like he genuinely wants to make a difference.

Hate to say it but he should’ve gone with a token hire. Not just about this election and the next 4 years (“white supremacists”, now we’ve got 2 of them as far as the media will see it, they don’t like white people).
It’s also because VP will likely run for President in 2028. Democrats will have a token candidate and they’ll probably win like Obama did.

I noticed this too. It wasn't a good speech and wasn't a particularly good delivery. He may have been ad libbing some of those anecdotes but they didnt land well. The Hitler salutes at the beginning showed poor self awareness.

Seeing lots of older school republicans loving Vance - he is a great balance to Trump and he’s young and smart.

You need someone chilled out with Trump. I love Ron and Vivek, but it might be too much bombast at once. JD might be able to convert some TDS women, although I think Youngkin may have been the better pick for that.

What votes does Vance get us? Picking someone from Virginia or the Carolinas might add votes.

Possibly locks up the Midwest. Seems like he didn’t do any harm with suburban women, maybe even picked up a few of them when he introduced his mom. Most people are decided at this point, but what there is to be gained of undecideds he seemed likable, intelligent, and humble. If nothing else he didn’t frick up the momentum Trump has right now.

Picking Scott wouldn’t have changed this. They would have just implied he was an Uncle Tom, just as they do already with him, Ben Carson and any black conservative.
