I don't understand why John Thune and the Senate GOP wont go nuclear

and end this charade. The reason given is they're afraid next time the Dems have control they'll run roughshod .

I can read perfectly fine, dipshit. I’m just saying that the nuclear option is one of the endpoints democrats are hoping for in this fight. It allows them to pass what they want, once back in power, while saying the republicans did it first.

You nuke the filibuster and there will be 42 Supreme Court justices the second they can get 50 plus 1 in the Senate.

They would be able to open the door themselves if they get the power. If my memory serves me correctly, they tried before and the reason it failed was bc of Manchin (who is gone now) not voting with 49 other D senators

the same reason why Biden and Schumer wanted to get rid of the filibuster: cant pass anything through with a small majority. this Congress might enact even less bills than the 117th and 118th
