Also...why do you come do this board and assume you are on a "higher plane" of knowledge? You are not some objective, evidence-based person. You are a liberal, and you are very good at memorizing liberal answers to various debate questions.

If i walked into your home tonight, I would not find a very well-balanced library of books. I would find liberal authors who tell you what you want to hear.

You make zero effort to even explore where the other side is coming from. You claim all conservatives are stupid and retarded, and do not even for a second consider listening to conservative intellectuals explain their positions.

You (rightfully) notice that hannity and rush are morons, and you think such a fact justifies your complete avoidance of other, more serious conservatives like thomas sowell, ben shapiro, krauthammer, friedman, russ roberts, deirdre mccloskey, among others.

Ummm, many republican senators have rebuked trump multiple times. They largely have criticized tariffs, they chastised him for various statements he made (shitholes, Charleston, mika's facelift, etc)

What do you think they should do more of? Not confirm appointees?

Yes, they're always "deeply concerned". I'm all too aware of their platitudes. But when the rubber meets the road, they consistently ride along with Trump.

As to what they should be doing? Oh, I don't know, not act like fricking cucks, grow some balls, and loudly let this piece of shite president know that they're an equal branch of government who will not allow him to run his yap without consequences, politicize the DOJ, not confirm pieces of shite like Pruitt, DeVoss, and Zinke, and, oh, I don't know...maybe protect the special counsel?

Man, you are just an angry plantation voter.

In other words, you are pissed off because they aren't doing what your liberal rage wants them to do.

There's common ground on some issues, but leadership will be damned if they do by either side... because of nincompoops that can only see the other side as completely worthless pieces of shite.

Because neither side in Washington gives a crap about anything except getting their side re-elected, so they can keep the gravy train going.

I'm guessing you call for massive financial regulation as well.

No you're right. We should let the financial industry regulate itself and just sit back and wait for another financial melt down like 2008.

I voted for Dubya.....twice. I used to read World Net Daily, Ron Paul's blog, books by Pat Buchanan and David Horowitz. I used to watch Bill O'Reilly obsessively which was followed by my truly favorite show, Hannity and Colmes. I would listen to Michael Savage on the way into work. I was as fricking right wing as you could imagine.

And then I got on a liberal message board. I would argue and argue and argue with them. They would call my dumbass out for having facts completely wrong. I blew them off for a good while but, eventually, started actually reading the links. These weren't links to Democratic Underground or HuffPost...these were links to official government studies, CBO documents, scientific studies, articles from respected journalists, etc.

Eventually, it dawned on me. I had LITERALLY been fricking brainwashed. I was living in a wholly different reality thanks to the media I was consuming. I realized I was completely living the Ayn Rand view of objectivism. I was embarrassed as shite after stepping out of that bubble.

I don't believe I'm on a "higher plane" of knowledge. I do believe that there might be readers, even if it's only one, who gets challenged on this board to step outside the bubble and experience the same epiphany I did. I don't get on here and preach progressivism. I don't extoll the virtues of open borders, endless welfare, or pretend I don't see color. I don't believe in every liberal position. When I'm wrong about something, I admit it. I'm not on here to be a caricature of some far left hippy. I'm here to challenge misinformation which, imo, has been incredibly harmful to this country over the last 20 years.

Am I correct in understanding that because you believe you’d been brainwashed, you assume that those who don’t agree with a leftist political orthodoxy are similarly uninformed/indoctrinated?

This would at best make you very purple (politically)

Because there is data out there that "validates" both sides of issues.

Statistics are useful, but they are also a breeding ground for fallacies, misleading causations, and inappropriate comparisons that do not tell the whole story.

I haven't been on here that long, but yours is the best post I have seen.

There is very little actual back-and-forth discussion on this board. And virtually every attempt to inject anything that comes close to rocking the boat is summarily dismissed, usually without an attempt to respond to the actual subject matter of the post.

Well your posts have been so thorough and deeply thought out that you’ve driven me to it.

Lol. No. I do not wish to engage a so called Christian that supports abortion in a discussion on a message board. That's silly. You are beyond help. But hey, you and commie dawg can yuck it up at the next abortion party you attend.

My posts were thorough enough to point out your troll

What’s wrong with being a Christian and saying that a woman should be allowed her choice? Are you saying it’s your right to impose your beliefs on everyone?

Do I believe in abortion? Nope. But I do believe that is a woman’s business. As a Christian I also realize that I am not the judge.

First off, being pro-life DOES NOT require you to be a Christian. An Atheist can believe that the life inside of a womb deserves legal protections. Christians happen to believe that life begins at conception, but anybody can believe that, not just christians.

Secondly, a law BY DEFINITION is imposing beliefs on others. A law that forbids me from stealing your wallet is imposing on me society's belief that theft is wrong.

First off..in my reply, I said I didn’t believe in it. I’m just saying that shouldn’t that be between the lady and her God? I thought Republicans believed in personal responsibility?

You know, as a Christian, that it's dead arse wrong. End of story. I, nor you, are worthy of judging sinners even if the sun is right there in our faces. This nor difficult.

You didn’t answer my question. Why does the GOP want to force their opinion on everyone? I thought America was a free society?
