I don't see things working out too well economically for the EU.

First they are on the verge of losing €18 billion per year due to Brexit.

Second Trump just sent the message to NATO nations pay the frick up.

Third where are they going to get the cash to dump into the Paris Accord Green Fund?

I see a very austere future for EU countries whether intended or not. It's coming.

Good.

I'm tired of footing the bill for those socialist clowns.

Germany just imported a low IQ, stone-age death cult worshipping, hopelessly inbred permanent underclass.

On purpose.

The shift of American production from European elites to Americans should really be great for the US economy.

Without commenting on Trump or the OP, this was probably inevitable short-term to an extent for the EU. The dollar has been so damn strong for so long that it should have happened a year or two ago. Now we're starting to tick up interest rates, and voila.

Still, their UE is double ours without taking into account the, ahem, questionable UE accounting of Italy, Spain, Greece, and the like. Median income is still about a 1/3 less than ours; only Germany of major countries really compares in straight median income; and they lose quite a bit of distance when PPP is taken into account.

For the most part, they keep doing economically stupid shite and can't disentangle themselves from legacy issues like national labor agreements (see: France), input costs (see: Germany), or just being economic basket cases (see: Italy and Spain).

They're going to have lower interest rates for a little bit then will probably catch the tailwinds from the U.S. going up then go right back to the problems they've had for the last seven years.

Europe kinda scares me a bit. The last time Germany felt downtrodden and cheated, we ended up with this:

Ehhh they can't field an army nowadays.

The EU should be worried about Russia and their influence of force.

Merkel has technically accomplished more than what Germany did in WWII with the invention of the EU and never fired a shot. She basically runs the EU due to the strongest economy outside GB.

I do find her recent comments about Trump and the U.S. stating that after Trump's visit to Europe it was "clear that now the EU countries would not be able to count on the US for assistance and they would have to stand on their own"

I'm all for helping to protect EU, but that comment just proves how much the US propped up many of those governments. They SHOULD IMO be self sustaining, but as most socialists they are looking for handouts.
